She started the shower and I checked the top drawer for the ring I purchased. I couldn’t wait to see it on her finger.

Once we were in the shower, we messed around a little bit longer until she urged me to hurry up or we’d be late. We were planning to meet Carla and some of her friends along with my brother and his family down at the carnival. We got dressed and she was wearing the same tank top I'd seen her in that night.

I pulled her to me for a kiss, my hands on her ass. “I was gonna wait until later, but now seems like the perfect time. I have a question for you, Vanessa.”

“What's that? We really do need to get going.”

“I know.” I let her go and took the ring from my drawer. I handed her the box and she looked at me with a confused look on her face.

“What's this?”

“Open it?”

She opened it and her hands started to shake. She brought a hand to her mouth and tears immediately filled her eyes. Inside was a princess diamond engagement ring. “Vaness Harper, I love you. I am so thankful I ran into you that night at the carnival. It only seemed fitting that today of all days, I do this.” I got down on one knee and took her hand. “Will you marry me?”

The tears were flowing down her cheek and she was smiling. She nodded. “Yes, yes Grayson. I will marry you.”

I stood up and pulled her to me for a kiss. She put on the ring. “Well, you should text your brother and let him know we're gonna be late. We have to celebrate alone first.” She winked at me and pulled me towards the bed. I couldn't be happier.

The End
