My love, my love.”

“Oh Peter,” she whispered, as the tears slipped down her cheeks.

I spun her out and back in again, bringing her close and placing a gentle kiss on her forehead before I continued, my voice joining the song again.

“For every day that I went away,

And all the times that I didn't say I love you.

This goes out to you, my love, my love.

For every day that I went away,

And all the nights that I'd lay awake,

'Cause every time that I didn't say I love you,

This goes out to you

My love, my love.”

The song ended and restarted on repeat, but I didn’t sing it again. Instead, I held her and swayed to the music, dropped my mouth close to her ear and whispered my love, my devotion, and I poured my heart and soul into hers, filling her so completely with my words that I was certain she would never doubt my feelings for her again.

“I love you, Rae. You’re my heart, now and forever baby.”

Her fingers gripped my shirt tight and her breath stuttered as she replied, “I love you too, Peter.”

Chapter 40

“Oh God!” I blurted, sitting straight up in bed.

“Was is it?” Peter asked, humored by my outburst.

“We didn’t . . .” I paused and cleared my throat awkwardly as he rose a brow, “Pete we didn’t use any protection.”

Nope, not for the last three days and it never occurred to me until now.

“And?” he was watching my face, the corners of his sexy lips twitching in amusement.

“This isn’t funny. What if you just got me pregnant?” I asked in indignation.

He shrugged, “I might have.”

I could feel the blush rising up and into my cheeks. “You don’t care?”

Peter pulled me into his arms and laughed lightly, “Rae, honey, in my heart we’re already married. I haven’t been with anyone else.” He tilted my chin up until our eyes met, “I’d love to have babies with you.”

I snorted, smirking at his comment, “You’d like to make babies you mean.”

His loud guffaw echoed in the room, “I can’t deny that’s also true.”

I rolled my eyes, “Peter, you’re awful.”

“I disagree,” he answered as his warm lips trailed down my throat. “Only moments ago you were crying out my name in pleasure.”

I blushed down to my roots, “Peter!”

He laughed again and pressed a soft kiss to my lips, answering with his signature swagger, “Baby I’m yours, and you’re mine. When we have children I’ll be thrilled. I don’t care when it happens.”
