Smiling because I have a plan, I always have a plan and I’ll always get my way with him, I push against him and stand tall so my back is flush with his hard chest. I lay my head back and purr as his nose and tongue come down to skim along my flesh. “Mmm. I love when you do that.”

He smirks against my neck. “Mmm, I just love you. Period.”

I smile at his words. He never, ever, misses an opportunity to tell me he loves me. And I love it. I love him.

I look inside my closet while his teeth nibble along my neck. I have a lavender dress that I haven’t worn in forever. It’s of my ‘skinny girl’ wardrobe, and I just so happened to spend almost a month recently on a liquid diet. If I pair it with boots and a coat, I’ll be warm enough for the concert tonight. “I’m almost ready.” I turn in his arms. “Just have to get dressed, then I’ll be out. Ten minutes, tops.”

“That’s okay, baby. No rush. Are you excited for tonight?”

“I’m so freaking excited, I can’t stand it. Do you think we’ll get to party with her after?” I’m joking, because I’m Asleep-By-Eight-P.M. Kit nowadays, but partying with Lila Royale would almost be enough to keep me awake until nine.

“I don’t know. You’ll get to meet her, but maybe she won’t like you, you know?” He laughs and nibbles along my jaw. “Try not to go all fangirl and blubber all over her. Be awesome and she might want to hang out.”

“Shut up! Iamawesome, she’ll love me. What’s not to love?”

He runs his nose along my neck and whispers, “That’s what I’ve been saying all along.”

Less than an hour later, with a promise from Jack that he’ll be good at home with Jim, we’re in the Rav and driving to the venue. The arena is in the city, which is an hour drive for us, so I settle in for a relaxing ride. I turn in the passenger seat and rest my back against the door so I can study his profile – something I like to do a lot of.

His jaw is so angular, it’s hard not to stare. His nose a little too bent for such a pretty guy, but it’s endearing. His long hair still tickles his collar, despite the fact hedoesget haircuts. I’m sure he goes into the barbers and asks for the‘wild and sexy, I just woke up like this’look. And what’s more, I’m pretty sure Jack goes to the same place and asks for the‘Bobby Kincaid’look.

I watch the way his lips twitch and his eyes come to the side to watch me. “What?” He switches lanes as we near the city. “Like what you see, baby?”

“Yup, I definitely do.”

He chuckles. “You’re making it really difficult to drive right now. Your staring is distracting me.” Despite his words, I know he doesn’t mind. “What are you thinking about?”

I shrug easily and study my nails. “Climbing you like a tree and riding your face.”

The car swerves to the left as he chokes on thin air. I laugh and patiently wait for him to recover, and when I notice the movement, I enjoy the way the zipper on his jeans steadily lifts and fills out. My mouth waters at what we could have if he’d just stop being so damn stubborn.

“Jesus, woman! Don’t say shit like that when I’m driving.”

I lift a casual shoulder. “You asked, I told. I see your jeans, babe. I know you want it, too.” I lean across and stroke his zipper with my nail, the same way I did on our first date so long ago. He sucks in a rattling breath and clenches the steering wheel. I know I’m being cruel, I know he’s just as desperate as I am. But it doesn’t have to go down this way. I’m not saying no. He is.

“Babe.” He groans. “You’re killing me.”

“We don’t have to wait anymore.” I lean in and press a kiss to the ball of his shoulder. “I’m all better now.”

“I’m trying to be a gentleman. I don’t want to hurt you.”

I sit back with a huff. “Fine, don’t worry about it. I’ll just take the decision out of your hands.”

He switches lanes as we approach a set of traffic lights. “What do you mean?” His poor eyes are suspicious.

I wait until he stops at the lights before I speak. “On a scale from one to that’s not cool, how violated would you feel if you woke up already inside me? Like, if I were on top. Or maybe I could use my mouth…”

He doesn’t answer me, he just leans forward and bangs his head on the steering wheel. “She’s going to kill me. I’m gonna die a horny man.”

“So just…stick it in.I didn’t get hurt down there.”

“Babe…”

I laugh and press a final kiss to his shoulder. “Fine, I’ll stop. By the way, the light’s green.”

“Okay, so we get to meet her for a few minutes before the concert, then we go to our seats to watch, then we get to hang with her again for a few minutes after. Sound okay?”
