Grant smiled, and he felt himself starting to sink back…

The alarm went off.

“Dammit,” Grant muttered.

Huck chuckled. “Sorry.”

“Mmm, it’s fine.” Grant rubbed his face into the blankets as he flailed around to find his phone to turn off the alarm. “Crap. I gotta get up.”

“Stay just a little longer?” Huck implored, rubbing his thumb against Grant’s hand.

Grant peeked open one eye to see Huck’s hopeful smile, and he knew he couldn’t possibly refuse. “Just five more minutes.”

“Five more minutes. Totally.”

Grant fell back asleep with the tease of ghostly lips kissing his cheek.

Five minutes, unfortunately, ended up being about two hours since he’d turned off the alarm and Huck was not lying about ghosts being terrible about telling time.

“How do you and Sip manage to ring that stupid bell for Mrs. Charles every night if you never know what time it is?” Grant complained as he zoomed around his room to get ready for the day.

Huck hovered close, replying, “Okay, to be fair, we pay a lot more attention when it’s dark outside! And that’s more Sip’s department! I’m sorry! He’s much better at ghosting than me.”

“It’s okay.” Grant groaned, whipping his shirt over his head. “It’s my fault. I should have…” He stopped when he realized Huck was staring at him. “What?”

“Uh.” Huck quickly turned around. “Are you planning to take off more clothes? Because I can go.”

“Oh!” Grant smiled bashfully. “This is it. Kind of in a hurry since I’m running late thanks to a very hot ghost snuggling with me.”

Huck peeked over his shoulder. “Hot, huh?”

“Very.”

Huck was beaming as Grant put on a new shirt and finished getting ready.

“So. Tonight?” Grant asked, running his fingers through his hair. “Maybe a little earlier than midnight?”

“How about I come by after ringing the bell for Mrs. Charles?” Huck suggested. “Say, like nine thirty?”

“Mmm, you sure you’re gonna remember?” Grant teased. “Not gonna lose track of time?”

“Nope. Definitely gonna remember.” Huck leaned in close. “May I…” He glanced over Grant’s lips. “Please? Just one?”

“Yes, but just one!” Grant let his energy burst forth so he could kiss Huck’s lips, sighing contentedly at the tender press of their mouths. “Mm…”

“One more?”

“Just one.”

Grant lost track of exactly how many kisses they shared before he finally dragged himself away, promising to see Huck later as he hurried downstairs to find the rest of the cast and crew. He was smiling and even humming to himself, surprised at just what a good mood he was in. Maybe it had a little something to do with snuggling and making out with a certain hottie ghost.

He was also a bit surprised that no one had come to check on him. Then again, the investigation last night may have run late into the morning, and everyone else might have elected to sleep in too. He made a mental note to check in specifically with Finn and find out if Myrna had ever found his room.

Grant found a coffee station on a trolley in the sitting area by the front desk, loaded up the biggest cup he could find, and then headed to the command center to see if anyone else was up yet.

“Hey, sleepyhead!” Aurora was sitting at the desk, inexplicably cheerful and well-rested for someone who had been up all night hunting ghosts.

“Ugh,” Grant grunted at her.
