Wow.

It was a detailed carving dug into the plywood over one of the windows. He saw it was made with tiny pokes and scratches as he got closer, a patchwork of lines and dots forming a smiling portrait of himself hugging a dark longhaired cat. Their eyes had a sharp gleam to them, incredible given such a raw medium, and Grant gasped when he saw there was a notch in the cat’s left ear.

“It’s me and Cat!” Grant realized. “You, you made me and Cat!”

“Do you like it?” Huck asked eagerly.

“I love it. Thank you!” Grant wanted to hug Huck so much, but he contented himself for now with squeezing Huck’s hands on his shoulders. “You even remembered what I said about his ear.”

“Of course I did.” Huck rested his chin on Grant’s shoulder, solid enough to nuzzle against his cheek.

“I’m not used to people listening,” Grant said quietly, a quick jab of loneliness unsettling his stomach.

“Then you’re definitely hanging with the wrong kind of people,” Huck said. “I mean, I could listen to you all night.”

“And have,” Grant teased as he walked up to the carving with Huck hovering along behind him. “This is… wow. I don’t even have the words, Huck. Thank you so much.”

“You’re very welcome.” Huck slowly wrapped his arms around Grant’s waist, cuddling close and kissing his hair.

Grant’s pulse was skyrocketing because he could swear that Huck felt alive right now. The arms around him were strong and firm, and he loved that Huck didn’t shy away from his big belly. He put his hand on Huck’s forearm, letting his energy travel forth, and he was surprised how vibrant Huck’s energy was now.

“So, uh, I take it that Sip had some really good advice?” Grant asked, clearing his throat when he realized he sounded out of breath. “I mean, I can… I canfeelyou.”

“He did indeed,” Huck confirmed. “It was totally my fault that you got so drained last night. I didn’t know how to focus my ghostiness because I was trying to breathe when I can’t actually breathe, but I got it figured out now.”

“Wait, what?” Grant laughed.

“Trust me.” Huck rubbed Grant’s belly. “I was practicing all day working on that carving for you, and I thought maybe… we could work on other stuff. If you wanted to. If you were into that. With me.”

Grant’s cheeks lit up to scalding immediately, and he turned so he could face Huck. “I, uh, could be very into that. Into lots of things.” His cock was definitely interested, and it flexed inside his pants at the mere thought of having Huck touch him. “Maybe, uh, we could go back to the room…”

“Uh-huh.” Huck kissed Grant’s cheek.

“Watch some moreWalking Dead…”

“Uh-huh.” Huck kissed Grant’s jaw, slowly working his way down to Grant’s neck.

Grant’s face flushed hotter, and he realized he could touch Huck’s shoulders. He latched on to them, tilting his head back to let Huck kiss and suck at his throat. Huck’s lips were warm now, and God, they were so wonderfully soft.

He reached down to stroke Huck’s back, but his hand went right through him. He took a deep breath and focused, letting his energy flow through to Huck, and was rewarded with a broad back to cling to. He could feel warmth, like a comforting ray of sunshine, seeping into him in reply, and he was certain it was Huck.

It was incredible.

The sensation was comforting and sweet, as if Grant was being hugged from the inside out, and he felt light and almost giddy. As his energy flowed, Huck’s was there to meet it, and when their lips connected in a deep kiss, Grant could hardly catch his breath—breath, yes, it was like he was breathing in sync with Huck, their bodies rising and falling together with this intense energy pulsating between them, and it was the most beautiful thing he’d ever experienced.

And then he felt Huck’s cock.

Grant was startled at first. Even though physical displays of arousal made total sense while making out, he definitely had not been expecting that to happen. Not from a guy who could potentially walk through walls.

“Oh!” Huck seemed equally surprised. “So, did I do that or did you?”

“I’d like to think I helped.” Grant chuckled. “Uh, but I can’t say exactly for sure?” He took some deep breaths. “We should, uh, go. Bed. We should definitely go to bed.”

“Yeah, totally.” Huck kissed Grant one more time before politely stepping back to give him some space.

Grant grinned. “Just one sec. I really wanna get a picture of the carving.”

“Of course! Yeah! I’m so glad you like it.”
