It wasn’t long before Huck had Grant pinned up against the shower wall, fucking him hard and fast. The only points of contact between them were Huck’s cock and his arms, his hands holding Grant’s hips as he slammed into him. It was rough, quick, and the heat was amplified by a sense of urgency because Grant didn’t want to be late.

Grant came first, and then Huck finished across his hole, rubbing the head of his cock there as he unloaded. They kissed, slow and sweet, enjoying the thrum of their energies swirling together like circling fireflies…

And then Grant realized what time it was and had to rush out of the shower to finish getting ready.

It was easy for Huck to get dressed since all he had to do was imagine his hoodie and the rest of his outfit sliding into place. He waited patiently for Grant to finish dressing before he moved in to steal a few more kisses. He’d always loved a big man, and Grant was everything Huck could have ever hoped for. He enjoyed watching the reverse strip tease of Grant putting his clothes on, hungrily gazing over Grant’s meaty thighs and thick belly and…

Wait, what were they supposed to be doing?

Right. Today was a work day.

With a promise to see each other later, they went their separate ways—Grant downstairs to find the rest of the PP crew and Huck down the hall to find Janice.

Huck knew by now that Janice didn’t usually join the crew for breakfast, instead choosing to have a muffin or a granola bar in her room. He also knew Janice took forever to get dressed in the morning, so he listened in on the other side of her door to make sure he wasn’t missing anything vital and didn’t see anything he didn’t want to.

Plus, it still felt a little creepy sometimes.

Maybe he just hadn’t been dead long enough. After all, Rebecca and Precipitation didn’t seem to care about whose privacy they were invading. Then again, Huck was very sure that his friends had probably been perverts while they were alive, so they wouldn’t have cared about it then either.

Janice came out, dressed in a sharp pantsuit and smiling in such a way that Huck was instantly unsettled.

“The fuck you so happy about?” Huck asked out loud.

Janice didn’t answer him, of course, and she was practically skipping her way down the stairs.

Huck was suspicious, but he didn’t have a clue why Janice seemed like she was in such a good mood. He followed her into the dining room where everyone was having breakfast, Grant included, and Huck waved.

Grant smiled Huck’s way, and he waved back as subtly as he could.

“Beware,” Huck said. “Janice is in a freakishly good mood, and I feel like that’s probably not a good thing.”

Grant glanced over at Janice with a little frown.

Janice was actually laughing with Finn and Cary, confirming the plans for the evening for the whole team to head down into the morgue. She still appeared uncharacteristically cheerful, so much that even Finn and Cary exchanged a few confused glances.

Huck really, really did not like how she was looking at Grant either.

Like a big scary cat about to pounce…

Grant could definitely sense it as well, judging by the furrow of his brow.

“Don’t worry,” Huck assured Grant. “I’m gonna stay on her all day. I’ll figure out what she’s up to.”

Grant nodded and went back to his breakfast.

Huck hated that Grant looked worried now, and he gave Grant’s shoulder a reassuring squeeze.

Grant reached up as if he was scratching an itch, but he slid his fingers over Huck’s.

When Janice left, Huck followed her, and so began another very boring day of stalking.

It was more of the same—Janice answering the phone, Janice making calls on the phone, Janice yelling at the phone, lots of time on the phone. She went into the morgue briefly, but she didn’t seem to be up to anything except checking some possible angles from the doorframe. She came back later with Mack, the cameraman, to review specific shots she wanted to use for promo.

The hours were dragging by, and Huck did his best to remain vigilant in spite of the awful boredom. He almost wished Janice was doing something nasty because at least that would be interesting. Now he didn’t know what to think, and he wondered for a moment if he and Grant were wrong about her.

He was following Janice back to her room because she needed some sort of receipt to take a picture of to send in for the next audit. Just as they started up the steps, there was an awful scream.

Janice hadn’t reacted to it, which meant she couldn’t hear it, which meant it had to be…
