Prologue

Dagan

The scent of my mate is overwhelming, it’s driving me to madness. I sprint through the streets, as people run screaming from my fury appearance. I’m shifted in my wolf form, hoping to track her faster. It’s almost as if she knows I’m coming and is teasing me on purpose. Like she knows I enjoy chasing down my prey. My teeth are salivating at the thought of tasting her.

As I round a corner, I stop. She’s here, and she’s mine.

Then I see her, long bright blue hair, running down an alley. Fucking bitch is teasing me, I knew it.

I sprint after her and she finally spins around, facing me, eyes widening in fear. I shift quickly to my human form and shove her against the brick wall of the building. “Mine.”

I slam my lips against her as she tries fighting me off. She can play this game all she wants but we both know what we are to each other.

Bunching her dress up I slide her panties to the side. “Please don’t do this.” She begs, crying.

My cock is hard and ready, and as quickly as I can I slide inside of her. She screams out at the invasion, tears coming faster. “Stop playing at this game, we both know what this is.” I growl in her ear as I pound away inside of her. Just as I’m about to find release I’m woken up.

Fuck, I’m getting sick of these fucking dreams. The same damn one for months now, at least this time I was able to get my cock in her. And she had less fight this time. I don’t know what these dreams are, but they are coming more often than not.

All I know is I must find this woman in my dreams, because I know without a doubt she’s my mate.

Chapter 1

Raven

He’s pounding away. Just relentless. It hurts. It feels good. I’m overwhelmed by the sensations.Gasping for air I sit up in bed, sweat pouring down my body. What the hell? I’ve been having these crazy ass dreams for months now, about this shifter wolf raping me. And this time I could almost feel as if I was in control of the dream. All the other dreams I fought as hard as I could, but it was like I knew it was coming this time, and I just let it happen.

Sure the man in my dream was hot as fuck, but why would a supe want to rape a human? Far as I knew supernatural’s stayed away from humans, at least when it comes to relationships.

“Raven? You up yet?” my Aunt Ravenna, who I was named after, calls from outside my door. When my parents died, I was legally an adult, but my four-year-old brother wasn’t and I didn’t want to be his guardian at just eighteen, so we both came to stay with our aunt. She says she’s mom’s sister, but you would never know. They don’t look a thing alike, and I’m pretty sure Aunt Ravenna tries to pretend she’s an actual witch. I think it’s why she opened up her shop.

Unfortunately, two years ago, just three days before my brother’s eighteenth birthday he and his girlfriend were in a car accident on their way home from prom. He died instantly; she survived a few days in the hospital. I could have moved out after that, but I’d grown close to Ravenna, plus, it felt like my brother was still with me, in this house. We left his bedroom the same as when he left.

Clearing my voice I reply to Ravenna, “Yeah, I just woke up.”

“You are in charge of the shop today, so get a move on.”

The shop, of course, is our business. Selling all sorts of things: Silly love potions, revenge spells, readings, and so on.

Everyone from around the world visits the shop, so the overflow of money has been rewarding. I swear not a day goes by that we don’t sell out of at least a few items.

And it’s been this way since the great coming out forty years ago; business didn’t slow down. Aunt Ravenna said the shop would get maybe a handful of people a week, mostly just tourist. At first immortals were feared, it took a few years for people to see they were like them, only they held magic. Some people, even still, are terrified, others are obsessed, and of course there are the ones that really don’t care as long as they don’t hurt them. Like that damn shifter from my dream.

The vampire groupies are the worst, we get the odd groups here and there in our store trying to find out how to become a vampire or how to get one to fall in love with them. Simple truth, you can’t become a vampire, you’re born that way. Which pisses a lot of them off. As for any immortal falling in love, well that’s doable, except every immortal in the world has a destined mate, doesn’t matter if you’re in a relationship or not, once the soulmate call sounds off, that’s it.

To me it sounds ideal, why can’t human’s have a soulmate like that? Instead they lie and steal and cheat on their partner and the divorce rate is so high, it’s laughable.

Moving around the room I set out my items and head towards the shower to get a start on my day. Hopefully it passes by quickly, and I don’t’ get too many crazies in.

Chapter 2

Raven

Just as I’m about to flip the closed sign on the door a woman, looking around my age, walks into the shop. Where I have bright blue hair, something my mother often tried to beg me to dye it something natural, which of course didn’t work, trust me, we’ve tried, this woman has flaming red hair. She looks familiar but I can’t quite place it, maybe she’s been a costumer before.

“Are you Raven Castor?” she asks me, adjusting her cloak around her shoulders. She’s a witch, I realize instantly. I’ve come across all sorts of supernatural beings but never a witch.

“Um, yes, I’m Raven, can I help you with something? I’m afraid we’re closing now, so hopefully you have cash as I already shut everything down.”
