"Well then, I will draw up a prenuptial agreement for Cal to sign. I hope you realize how important her job is and won’t hinder her progress up.”

"Daddy, I don’t know if I want to continue up, as you put it. That is something Cal and I will have to discuss. You can draw up a prenup but we won’t be signing it. That’s not how I want to start any marriage."

"Nicola…"

"Daddy, I’m not someone to control. It’s my life and we will decide together."

We left the next morning for home. As we were enjoying the ride, Cal suddenly said, "Take the next right."

"Here, on this narrow road?" I asked, surprised.

"Yep. Where the arrow points to Murphy."

"Why?"

"I don't know. I just have a feeling we should go there. Look at that sign." The sign said 'Welcome to Murphy, North Carolina. Pop. 1575.'

Suddenly I saw what drew us here. "Cal, turn around."

"Why?"

"Look." I giggled as Cal saw what I saw, a small building that had a sign on the front 'Murphy City Hall'.

"Now look over here." I pointed at another small white building. There was a flower covered arched trellis in front. A sign said 'Murphy Wedding Chapel'.

Cal laughed as he looked at me, "How about it?"

"Yes! Oh yes!"

Two hours later we headed on down the backroads of North Carolina, heading home as man and wife.

THE END
