Her mouth dropped open. “Nicole?”

“I’m guessing.” When they heard a door open, he looked toward the diner, and Nicole walked out scowling.

“What’s all the commotion?’ she yelled.

Simone and Brenna shared a look and then started laughing hysterically, making Blake grin.

“What’s going on?” Nicole yelled.

Hunter’s gaze zeroed in on her with piercing intent.

“Hey, Nic. Your mate wants to meet you,” Roman said.

“My what?”

“Your mate. Meet my brother Hunter. You guys are perfect for each other.” Roman chuckled.

Nicole’s eyes widened. “Oh, no. I will not turn into a puppy’s sex-crazed plaything.”

“You don’t have a choice, Nic,” Brenna said. “You can try to run, but I doubt you’ll get far.”

Blake covered his mouth to hide his smile when Roman looked down at his mate.

“You started that, woman.”

Brenna snorted. “You’ll get over it.”

Holy hell, the woman was perfect for the Alpha. The universe got the match right again.

He heard Nicole scream in outrage, turn, and race off. He looked over at Hunter and grinned at the heat-filled anticipation on his face.

“I’ll be seeing you guys later. Don’t bother us when we get home,” Hunter said and walked the way Nicole was going.

“Hell. I think we need to plan on building the cabins around the house for each one that finds his mate because they’ll need privacy,” Roman said. “I’ll get the brothers on it.”

A man in a uniform walked out of the sheriff’s department down the street.

“Hey, Alpha, where’s the sheriff? He’s got a shitload of work to get done,” the deputy said.

Roman laughed. “He’s going to be busy today, Rafe. He’s just now meeting his mate.”

Rafe looked shocked and then grinned. “Man, I’ll have more work on my desk. Maybe down the road, I’ll find my own mate.”

Roman nodded. “I hope so, too. It gives me hope the way things are going.”

Rafe waved and walked back into the building.

“I’m going to take Brenna home,” Roman said. “I’ll have someone drive Simone’s car home.”

Blake smiled down at Simone. “Yeah, we’re headed there now.” The only place he was the happiest was the house he grew up in and with the mate, he’d been lucky enough to find.

Now, he just wished the rest of his pack brothers would find their own.

The End
