The white powder in the box is none other than the Columbian-made 1988 manufactured and processed cocaine during the height of the drug scare. The most pure that there has ever been.

Ever since I got my hands on it, the damn stuff has proved to be giving me nothing but power and the strength to get everything I want done. This little discovery was enough for our family to take over Boston, giving me more than enough energy to kick out all the other groups.

It’s irreplaceable, unbelievably rare, and once I’m out, I’m out.

Fuck. I need more if I want to get further than just Boston.

“Hey, daddy?” my not-so-little girl calls from downstairs, barely able to hear her as I look between the two. “You coming?”

“Just a second!” I yell back, turning back to the small box. It looks me directly in the eye, begging for all of it to disappear in a single sniff. One sniff is so intense and powerful, based on the amount that I’ve been using.

Holy shit I want it so bad please give it to me I need the power and I want the power and

“No,” I state, shaking my head slightly, overturning the box. The white powder falls to the floor, landing on the carpet and looking like gentle, falling snowflakes of a discarded rarity. Nobody other than me gets to know of its existence. Or its use. And now I’m free.

All I have to do is empty the Roomba once we get back, and it will be gone forever.

I take my time, taking a longer gaze as I start to get up, shaking my head to myself as I walk downstairs, meeting once again with the family I’ve always wanted, that I needed this whole time.

Camilla is there. The sons and daughters that I share with my beautiful wife are playing with their grandfather, a man who was once drugged out of his mind but has now turned into one of my best sales people, living in his own way and making quite the living for himself.

Last I checked, he’s remarrying soon, too.

And yet, I’m happy. This wasn’t something I expected to ever happen to me. I’ve always thought that the job would leave me hanging with nothing left behind, and yet, I’m happy and free to enjoy what I want.

“Hey, Camilla.” I turn to her, just for a moment.

“Daddy?”

“Use my real name, please.”

“What’s up, Cassio. Is everything okay?”

“I love you.”

She pauses, her face contorting slightly before she dives into me for a hug, tightly wrapping her in my arms. My hands gently press into her back, drawing her closer to myself..

“I love you, too.”

The End.
