Page 33 of Meeting His Match

“Doe, there’s nothing secret about the way she loves poking at Mace.” I kiss her forehead and guide her to the conference room. “Planning the wedding together will be good for them. They’ll have lots of time alone to work out whatever it is they feel.”

“But you know that Mace loves her,” she pushes, and I nod.

“When I told him that we had to wait for you both to graduate college, let’s just say that he wasn’t on board.”

“What happened?” Her eyes pierce mine, but just then Craig walks in.

“That chili went right through me.” He grabs his stomach and then belches loudly.

“We’ll talk later,” I whisper to her as we take a seat at the conference room table.

“Fine, but I want all the gossip,” she hisses, and I bring her hand to my mouth.

I place a kiss on the diamond engagement ring I slid on her finger just a few nights ago. I bought it the day she went to college and made a promise to myself to give it to her when she finally admitted she loves me.

“Anything for you, Doe,” I say, and the heated look she gives me goes straight to my cock.

“Let’s get to work,” she says to the room, and once again we begin to search for the thief among us.
