"Alastor—" I said.

"You remember me," he said as his face lit up.

I laughed. "Of course I remember you. You saved me last night, and it is kind of hard to forget meeting your first God." I winked. Was I flirting with a God, yeah I was. He was hot. He seemed to like how I looked if the appreciative once over he gave me was any sign.

"I hardly saved you," he replied.

I could feel Raiden's warmth behind me as he stepped closer. I tensed as I waited for him to ask what we meant, but he surprised me as he remained quiet.

"I see you have your bodyguard back in place," Alastor said, flicking his gaze up to Raiden.

"I don't need a bodyguard," I said, throwing a glance back at Rai. He glowered at Alastor, and for the second time in the last half hour, I got the impression that he was jealous. It was strange. I wasn't complaining, but it was messing with my head a little bit.

"But she has one," Raiden added. "I'll protect her from anything that means her harm."

"Well, then it is a good thing that I don't mean to hurt her," Alastor laughed, and it was slightly husky, sending awareness through my body. "Well, unless she begged for it," he said as he tugged his lower lip into his mouth and watched me like he hadn't had a meal in fifty years.

It left me speechless, a state I wasn't used to as I imagined what kind of pain he was thinking about. Raiden's hand landed on my shoulder as he pulled me back against him in a way that he had never done before. Well, unless you count my fantasies.

A slow smile spread across the God's face as he watched the movement. "I don't think you'll have the chance, unfortunately." Raiden's warm breath caressed my neck as he gave Alastor the wrong impression of us. I was too dumbstruck to even say a word in protest. My body, of course, had been waiting for thismoment for as long as we could remember and instantly reacted to his proximity and the false promise in his words. Desire instantly pooled between my legs, making me ready for anything he had in mind.

"Some women are worth sacrifices, and if they are happy with more, then who am I to say no," Alastor replied, sending my world spinning. Was he saying what I thought he was saying? Did he want to share me? New fantasy unlocked. Probably a million new fantasies unlocked.

The beast grew bored with our conversation and started cleaning itself, curling into a ball at his feet.

"You assume she would even want you," Raiden growled. He trailed his palm down my arm and attempted to tangle his fingers with mine.

Wait, what? Complete brain malfunction.

I stepped away from him. "Excuse him, I think he bumped his head at some point in the last twenty-four hours." The need to protect him from the wrath of a God urged me on. Sure Alastor seemed harmless, all the same, I just watched as he didn't say a word and his beast tore three demons apart without even blinking. Yeah, they were demons, and I was sure they deserved it. But what if Raiden's mouth got him into trouble?

"Do not worry about it, my lady, I forgave it before he even said it," Alastor replied.

I cleared my throat and glanced at the dismembered demons on the ground. They hadn't burst into a flame yet, and I wondered if that was because my dagger hadn't been used to kill them. "So, what did they do?'

I met his steady gray gaze as he brought it back to me. "Do you need reasons to dispose of demons?" He shrugged, and I got the feeling he was hiding something from me.

I shoved my hands into my pockets and nodded my agreement at his rhetorical question. "Speaking of demons, you mentioned having the same goal as me."

"Yes, I have been tasked with bringing Bellamy home."

"Is he a friend?" I cocked my head, watching him.

"A demon as a friend," Raiden scoffed, and I shot him a look that clearly said, shut up.

"He is like a little annoying brother who grew up and found they were better than you," Alastor replied with a half smile that told me there was more to the story.

"That means you know how to get him to go home peacefully," I replied. That would make this easier, and then I could deal with the real threat. The portal bringing demons here, and not just any demons, but ones willing to work together. That never happens.

He laughed. "Peacefully? More like kicking and screaming like a toddler."

The image that provoked didn't mesh with the demon that I've been up close and personal with. Bellamy was pure man, or demon — maybe I was still short-circuiting.

"So, what is the plan?" I asked.

"Watch your words, God, because if using Sam as bait comes out of your mouth, you will no longer have a tongue," Raiden threatened him.

"Rai!" I gasped.
