A part of me was aware I was willingly going to fuck a demon out in the open in the streets, and she didn't care.My head seemed to freeze as the head of his cock pressed against my opening as he dropped his powers. Both of us were breathing hard as he pressed open-mouthed frantic kisses to my overheated skin.

"Tell me you want this," he whispered next to my ear, sounding like he needed to hear the words. I didn't have his powers feeding off of me to muddle my mind and he had paused, even his kisses as he waited for my answer. It was clear he was going to stop if I said no. Fuck. Why did that make me flare with desire?

He ran his palm over my ass to my thigh, ready to set me down. I wrapped my legs around him more firmly as I made my decision. I was going to let a demon fuck me. Not only that, but feed off of me, too.

"Don't stop," I ordered him, and I could feel his smile against my neck.

His fingers tightened on my thigh, and he slammed into me. I cried out as he filled me. Then he spread me wide, holding me up with inhuman strength as he drove into me repeatedly. It was erotic watching his dark azure cock disappear inside of me, filling me up as my pussy clenched around him. This was so wrong, but it felt so good.

The potency of his scent got stronger as his thrusts got more erratic, and he was closer to his orgasm. It made me lightheaded and slightly dizzy as he fed off of my pleasure. When my release crashed over me, I was floating, released into the ether. As he pulsed inside of me, it was almost as if I could sense him where I was. We were together as one in our gratification.

My legs were like noodles as he put me down, still holding me up. My clothing was back in place in the blink of an eye. I knew what I should feel after having sex with someone I should kill, but it was all absent. The buzz of satisfaction was strong as he pressed one last kiss to my lips and stepped back. I leanedagainst the wall to keep myself upright as I watched him secure the pants around his waist, his tail threading through the hole in them as he did.

His gaze ran up my body, and his tongue ran over one of his fangs as he reached my eyes. "That was—" he trailed off with a smile. "Maybe a reason to live," he murmured, almost too low for me to catch the words. He absently scratched at his cheek. Watching me as if I had changed his entire view of the world, too.

I just fucked a demon. A small amount of horror took hold as I watched him. Not enough to make me regret it, but maybe enough to stop me from doing it again.

Maybe.

CHAPTER 17

Lex

The music was poundingthrough the club, voices shouted over it to be heard. Fairies flirted with witches and vampires flirted with shifters, all of it was acceptable while they were here. The biases got checked at the door along with any jacket they brought. It was what I always wanted. A place where anyone belonged. It didn't matter where you came from as long as you didn't mean any harm while you were here. My wards over the club alerted me if any of my patrons decided they wanted to cause trouble. It was the magic that had alerted me to Samantha in the beginning.

Each time she entered my protected space, I knew she was here. Mostly, she listened to my rule, but there have been times I've had to stop a fight that she caused. She always came here intending to follow a demon that probably meant harm to the human they left with. Not all demons were evil, but the ones that were made it worse for the rest of them.

When my gaze fell on Sam already inside, with no notice from the wards, I sucked in a shocked breath. It was probably why the drink I had been making slipped from my hold, the glass shattering at my feet and the liquor coating any surface withinreach. There was a satisfied glow in her aura, she had recently had sex. I knew that red and violet swirl mixed with her usual blue, intimately. She rarely came to the club after she'd had sex. Either she'd come here to see me for that reason or to hunt.

The fact that she was here, and it wasn't for either purpose, had my full attention. I watched as her long legs carried her to a booth in the back. She slid into a chair across from a familiar head of black hair. A hand full of rings pushed a drink across to her, and I knew it was Alastor for sure. What the fuck. His beast lifted one of its heads to look up at her before settling back down. Even the dog liked her enough to sleep in her presence.

She leaned across the table, a rosy flush to her cheeks I could see from this distance. Had whoever she slept with caused that or was it Alastor? Jealousy reared its ugly head, and one of my tattoos shifted in annoyance, making my skin itch. I ran my hand over my side, calming the tiger before it came off to protect me. Yeah, that wasn't an emotion it should protect me from, but it must feel my anger beneath it. Its tail shifted over my skin and curled around my back to my other side as it settled back into my skin.

The shadow monsters were a gift from my mother, something that would be with me always to keep me safe. They had come off a time or two to cause havoc before returning to my skin and appearing innocent in all the destruction they left behind.

Still, my eyes held on the pair as my fingers curled over the counter, holding me in place. I wanted to go over there and claim her for my own, but they both would look at me like I'd lost my mind. I had, for the record, along with my heart, all to her.

I flexed my hands as my fingers attempted to curl in on themselves, wrenching myself away from the torture I was allowing. I grabbed the broom and dustpan to clean up the glass on the floor. Then I resolutely focused on serving and flirtingwith customers. It was why they came after all, the draw of being served by a demigod was a perk for some.

Hours passed before I allowed myself to glance at the booth they had been in. They were still there, deep in conversation. Something snapped inside of me as I tossed down the rag that had been slung over my shoulder, and I stalked over to them.

Stopping next to the table, I scowled at them both. "These booths are for paying customers."

Sam laughed as she gazed up at me. "Lex—"

It was clear she thought I was joking. I focused on Alastor instead. "What did I tell you about coming here?"

"I'm pretty sure that deal was left at the bar when I refused your terms," he murmured as a shrug rolled over his shoulders.

My gaze skipped to Samantha at his words as shame made my ears flame hot. Did she know?

"I have to say, that was pretty crappy of you, Lex. Alastor isn't a bad guy," she said, but it wasn't judgment I saw in the depths of her eyes. It was something else I didn't have a name for.

She shifted in the chair, and it was then my nostrils twitched, scenting the incubus on her. The Demon Prince had fed on her. But he hadn't taken too much, she didn't even seem drained at all, just well pleased. Rivalry billowed in my belly, a need to prove myself to her spread inside my chest.

"I'll do it. No terms," I said as I faced Alastor.

"I knew you'd come around. Sorry, my lady, but I will handle the issue of the demon portals with my old friend," Alastor said.
