One Year Later

Nikolai adjusted his tie as he slipped inside his car. Exhaustion weighed him down. Traveling back-and-forth every week could do that to a man, but Nikolai gave his wife and his men his word.

Nikolai intended to honor his promise. He would devote half his time to his wife and family, and the remaining half to run his empire. Veronica had been initially concerned that his being away from the business would affect it, but so far, everything was running smoothly.

Ivan had stepped up and taken charge whenever Nikolai wasn’t present. Nikolai still had to smooth out the kinks in his plan, but in time he had a feeling he’d get used to the change.

“Welcome back, sir,” his driver greeted.

“Good to be back,” Nikolai answered.

After texting Veronica that he was on his way home, Nikolai looked out the window as they passed familiar scenery. Rolling, green hills dotted with olive trees.

This peaceful little village in France was the perfect place to raise their children. Here, they didn’t have to watch their backs all the time, although Nikolai still employed an overqualified security team to watch his family. The team leader sent him daily reports, insurance those he loved were safe.

Veronica and he had chosen the location together. Nikolai’s father had bought an old vineyard here twenty years ago. To Veronica and Nikolai’s surprise upon their first visit, the property had been well-maintained.

It wasn’t hard to get the place ready. Since everything was in working order, in mere months they were moved in. Veronica gave birth to their twins in the tiny village clinic. They named the boy Arturo after Veronica’s father and his good friend. The girl, they named Sasha after Nikolai’s mother.

The driver dropped him off at the humble estate. A nearby guard gave him a salute. Nikolai nodded back. Once inside, he was greeted by the head housekeeper. She took his coat.

“Where’s my wife and kids?” he asked her.

“In the living room. The madam fell asleep while waiting for you,” she answered.

Nikolai proceeded to his favorite room in the house. Veronica had fallen in love with their new home instantly. Nikolai had initially felt uneasy about the large windows surrounding the house but over time, he was also beginning to love this place.

He found Arturo in his day crib, sleeping soundly. Nikolai picked his son up and gave him a kiss on his little nose. Arturo giggled and gripped his finger. Warmth filled him. Nikolai could still remember the day the twins were born. He kept pacing restlessly in that small clinic, worried about Veronica. She had to tell him to be calm. When Nikolai first laid eyes on his children, it felt like the entire world had shifted. Nikolai spent the next few hours staring at the two perfect human beings Veronica and he created. He knew right there and then that he would protect them, along with the love of his life, with every fiber of his being. Hell, Nikolai would even see the world burn if it meant keeping them safe.

Nearby, Veronica was asleep on an armchair, a small bundle tucked against her chest. Sasha starting crying when he saw her. Still carrying Arturo, he ambled over to Veronica and Sasha.

“Hush, little one. Your mother is sleeping,” Nikolai told his daughter.

At the sound of his voice, Sasha stopped bawling. She stared up at him in wonder. It amazed Nikolai that his children didn’t seem afraid of him, when most people were intimidated by his presence when they first saw him.

“You’re here,” Veronica said. Pleasure filled her voice when she spotted him.“Did I fall asleep?”

“Yes, you did, but I only just arrived.” Nikolai leaned over and gave his wife a long and passionate kiss.

He only stopped when Arturo sneezed on him. Pulling away from Veronica, Nikolai took out a handkerchief from his pocket and cleaned his son’s nose. He and Veronica would have plenty of private time later, once they put the children to sleep.

“How was your flight?” Veronica asked. Nikolai sat on the sofa opposite the armchair, and settled Arturo on his lap.

“Bumpy. Gave me a terrible headache,” Nikolai said.

He watched her hungrily as she rose and placed a now sleeping Sasha in the crib. She gently took Arturo from Nikolai and placed him next to his sister. The passing of time could never dampen Nikolai’s lust for his wife.

He patted his lap. Veronica wore an impish smile as she slid onto his lap. Today, she wore a light and airy sleeveless white dress. Nikolai noticed with approval she didn’t bother with a bra. He could see the outline of her nipples though the thin fabric. Veronica moaned when Nikolai gave her left breast a squeeze. She shifted on his lap, then guided his hand under the hem of her dress to her bare pussy.

“You tease,” Nikolai said with agrowl in his voice. He rubbed her slick folds, then kissed her, thrusting his tongue down her throat. She ardently sucked down on it.

“Mmm,” Nikolai murmured.

He caressed her faster. Veronica rubbed her breasts furiously against his chest. It didn’t take long for her to come all over his waiting fingers.

He watched her hazy expression, dick thickening as she took his fingers, still slick with her cum, and licked them clean. God. How could Nikolai be more in love with this woman than he already was?

“I hope you’re looking forward to dinner. The kitchen staff and I made all your favorites,” Veronica said. She ran her slim fingers down the buttons of his white shirt.

“And dessert?” Nikolai asked. He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, making his wifesmile. They both knew she was dessert.

“Of course,” Veronica agreed. She rested her beautiful head against his chest. Nikolai breathed in her wonderful and familiar floral scent.“I love you so much, Nikolai.”

“Love you back, Veronica,” he immediately answered.

The End
