“Arnica cream.”
I go over and squeeze a liberal amount of the stuff into my hands. I apply it to all the areas I’ve lashed, which is most of her shoulders, back and arse, plus her legs, then return it to the cupboard. I go over and help Valentina up; she whimpers but eventually straightens.
As we go over to the door, I grab her robe and help her into it, then fasten it around her. I grab her face and place a soft kiss to her temple.

Valentina
I’m awoken to an almighty argument and shouting; I jump up in surprise, wondering how the hell I ended up in bed. The last thing I remember is trying to sit comfortably on the sofa while watching a film. I didn’t want to talk to anyone as I was sulking. My arse and legs were on fire and I was horny as hell, with no relief in sight.
Kai kept on smirking at my every move to get comfortable and it was pissing me off more. I must have fallen asleep eventually watching the film, as everyone had appeared and they were talking over the events of the day. They still hadn’t found Konstantin, which worried me as he could now give information back to Papa. I had switched off and watched the film, ignoring everyone.
I scramble out of bed, wincing as I sit on my sore arse. I throw a dressing gown on and march out of the bedroom to see what’s going on. I find Ida and Lev trying to hold Kai back, whilst Misha and Luka sporting a matching pair of red swollen eyes. Fuck me, what the hell?
“What the fuck is going on here?” I shout out in rage.
“My son is dishing out some much-needed punishment, who are you?”
“The Loch Ness fucking monster. Kai, what the hell have you done?”
Kai’s Papa just sits there with an annoying look on his face and Kai is panting with rage in Lev’s and Isadora’s grip. I walk over and stand in front of him, putting my hands on my hips. He looks down at me.
“I’ve done far less than I wanted to Valentina, they put you in danger,” Kai roars at me.
“Don’t you dare fucking shout at me you idiot! It was me who wanted to fight. I told you this before you went to pick up Isadora; I will not stand back and let others fight for me. Do not take it out on Bear and Luka do you understand?” I scream right back at him.
“Fucking hell, has anyone got any popcorn. She’s sexy when she’s mad Bret.” A man says lounging on a nearby sofa.
I look at him. I know the use of Bret means brother, so he must be Kai’s brother Dimitri. Fuck me he’s gorgeous, with darker hair than Kai but the family resemblance is there. He gets up off the sofa with a lazy smile and holds out his hand for mine. I place my hand in his and he brings it to his lips, kissing the back of it before introducing himself.
“You must be Valentina, it’s lovely to finally meet you. I’m Dimitri, Kai’s younger but better-looking brother,” Dimitri says.
I pause a moment, trying not to be sick in my own mouth with his self-absorbed ego. Fucking hell, what is it with gorgeous men that are full of it? It’s such a turn off. I remove my hand from his and wipe it on my robe; fuck knows what Romeo has got.
“You are correct, I’m Valentina. Pleased to meet you, but I’m a little busy here right now so can you sit the fuck down while I knock some sense into your brother, please?” I reply sweetly and turn back to Kai.
Lev and Isadora are smirking at Dimitri, and Kai is still standing between them enraged.
“Kai if you want to blame anyone it’s my fault, don’t you dare hit them again on my part.”
“They had clear orders Valentina; they are my men. They will be punished for their indiscretions accordingly. This has fuck all to do with you.”
“It has everything to do with me Kai, it was me that decided to come down. If they hadn’t have come down to watch my back, I may have been in danger. They didn’t though, they protected me at all costs,” I rage back at Kai.
