I have no idea what I expected to find when I opened the door. But not this…not Andrea.
I’m not prepared to find the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on on my doorstep. Arms wrapped around her body, shivering from the cold. Clothes clinging to her skin. Taut buds pressing against the thin fabric of her shirt.
In that moment, something rushes to the surface. DESIRE. HUNGER. THE NEED TO BE WITH HER. TO BIND HER WITH ME FOREVER.
I tamp it down because…
I’m twice her age.
She’s my best friend’s daughter.
She’s still in college. I’m an accomplished surgeon.
I should keep my hands to myself. Stay as far away from her as possible.
But the universe, or whatever the hell is at play, has other plans.
A storm sweeps across the state. Zero visibility. Tires losing traction along slick surfaces. Gusts threatening to push vehicles off course.
No way I’m letting her leave this place. She’ll stay here where she’s safe and sound…safe from the rain, not from me.
In the middle of this, she confesses something that makes my blood boil. Something evil, menacing wants to take her from me. This faceless stalker follows her around campus, terrorizing her with his attention.
I don’t know him yet, and I doubt he knows about me. But he’s about to find out that these hands that have saved so many lives can end him just as quickly.
Damn the consequences.
