She cocked her head to the right. "If you've wanted to kiss me for two years, why did it take until now?"

He chuckled. "You always flirted, then pulled away. I didn't think you were interested. Then, it seemed as though as soon as I thought I'd ask you out, I'd have to leave town for work, and I figured that was God's way of telling me to leave you alone."

"Really?" Her pretty brows furrowed.

"Really."

"Hmm."

Chuckling he stepped back. "Shall we go?"

"Sure." She turned toward her kitchen, "I just have to get my purse."

He followed her to see her kitchen. She had a cute house, but very little decoration. Not that he was an expert. But, she had a big personality so he assumed her house would have the same. Her walls were all white. Few pictures graced them. Her appliances, which could be seen from the living room were white. The cabinets were oak. The trim on the walls was oak. But there was little else that stood out.

She pulled her purse from the counter, and the stack of mail alongside slipped and dropped to the floor. He bent to pick it up and froze when he saw an envelope with handwritten scrawl on it that read, "You'll Pay."

He stood and held the envelope out for her to see. Adrenaline surged through his body at breakneck speed. "Why didn't you say anything about this?"

Her eyes rounded and her mouth dropped open. "I didn't see it." She swallowed and reached for it. "I ran to the mailbox and grabbed the mail but didn't look at anything. I was in a hurry to get ready for our date."

He didn't hand it to her but turned to see the light switch on the wall and flipped it on. Holding the envelope up to the light, he tried seeing through it to make sure there wasn't anything inside that would cause her harm.

Absently he asked, "Do you have rubber gloves here?"

"Rubber gloves?" Her voice was soft.

He turned his attention to her once again. "I don't think we should open this without gloves on."

"Oh my god." She stepped backwards two steps, her eyes locked on his.

Glancing through the envelope once more he shook it slightly and listened for anything inside. Shianne stood statue still. He lowered the envelope and looked into her eyes.

"Sweetheart. Gloves?"

"Gloves." She mimicked.

After a quick shake of her head, she opened the cabinet under the sink and rummaged through some items in a bucket. Pulling out a pair of large pink dishwashing gloves, she stood and turned toward him, holding the gloves out to him. "I have these."

"I'm not putting those on."

"I don't have anything else."

"I have a kit in my glove compartment. Let's get going."

She swallowed again and he nodded to calm her down. As she passed him in the small kitchen to move toward the front door, he got a great view of her long sexy legs in the black heels she wore. The black dress stopped just above her knees and the entire package was premium. She opened the door and turned to him. Cocking her head to the right. "Are you staring at my ass?"

"Maybe."

"Sassy."

"You were staring at mine earlier today."

"I..." Her mouth hung open.

"I saw you Shianne. When I left your shop. I'm not sure what kind of guys you're used to dating, but I notice things."

"I..." She froze and he chuckled.
