But despite everything, I believed in Thorsten and the love that we shared. I knew he would never abandon us, no matter what challenges we faced. And together, we'd find a way to make it through whatever this world threw at us.

The sun was just beginning to rise in the sky, casting a warm glow over the camp. I watched as Thor and Loki played with each other, their laughter ringing out through the air, and I couldn't help but smile as they attracted the attention of several soldiers and workers who stopped to play with them.

All around us, everyone was hard at work taking down the last remaining tents and loading transport vehicles with supplies. The morale among the titans was high, and it seemed like the whole camp was buzzing with excitement for the journey ahead. I exhaled a sigh of relief, grateful to see that the titans were treating Thor and Loki kindly.

My gaze drifted to the workers removing the Undvik banners and scratching off the royal blue and red colors from the vehicles.

"William is to be placed inside the royal vehicle with Radorgirn," I heard Thorsten say to a nurse nearby. The nurse, a good-looking titan male with brown curly hair and a slight tan to his skin, nodded respectfully. He wore an all-white uniform adorned with a badge bearing a medical insignia.

"Is there a problem?" I asked, furrowing my brow.

"Nothing to worry about," Thorsten reassured me, his silver eyes radiating warmth. "How are the twins holding up?"

"Loki's ecstatic about having a king for a father, while Thor is as stoic as ever," I replied with a chuckle.

"Being king is temporary." He said, pulling me close. "If my father is dead and Radorgirn never recovers, we'll find my other siblings. You and our children always come first."

"I'd never make you choose between us and your family. I understand why you have to do this, and I support you completely."

"I just want you to know that if any of the Titans try to make me choose, it would be their biggest mistake. I will never betray you or our children." Our eyes locked, and I could see the fierce love and determination behind his gaze.

"I never doubted you for a second," I whispered before lifting myself up to kiss him. The passion between us was still electric.

As we parted, I turned my attention to the royal transport vehicle. I was amazed to see how one of these looked in topcondition. The first time I was in one of these was during the dive into the abyss back in old New York. The techie in me wanted to take chunks of it apart to see how it worked. It had no wheels and appeared to hover off the ground. It was a smooth, aerodynamic teardrop shape gleaming in the sunlight with the royal crest proudly emblazoned in gold along the side, and I couldn't help but marvel at its size. The nosecone tapered to a sharp point, with the rear flaring out slightly for stability during flight. This thing had to have some powerful yet near-silent levitation engines! I thought bending down to get a good look at the soft blue glow from underneath.

Stepping inside, I was immediately struck by its lavish interior. Plush padded seats were arranged theater-style facing frontwards, each equipped with a five-point harness for safety. The walls and seats were covered in the finest brocade fabric in royal teal and gold hues, and ambient lighting created a relaxing atmosphere.

"Damn," I muttered under my breath, taking in the opulence around me. Holographic windows provided panoramic views of the outside. A minibar stocked with expensive liquor and refreshments caught my eye, and I couldn't help but smirk at the extravagance. A sound system filled the space with music, adding to the luxurious ambiance.

"Is this the same type of ship that was crashed in the abyss?" I asked Thorsten while guiding the boys to their seats.

"Not quite, it's much smaller. We don't even have our own rooms, and my brother and your father were moved to one of the store rooms."

"Ah, still, this thing is fancier than our place in Sahara."

He chuckled. "You'll get used to it."

Leaning back in my seat, I let out a sigh and looked around the vehicle once more, my gaze eventually landing on the rear lavatory. Gold fixtures gleamed beneath the ambient light, and luxury amenities lined the walls.

"Even the bathroom is fancier than our entire house," I mused aloud, shaking my head in disbelief.

"Welcome to Esmian royalty," Thorsten remarked, amusement dancing in his eyes.

"Can't wait to see what other surprises this life has in store for us," I said, a hint of sarcasm in my tone.

"Whatever it is, we'll handle it together," Thorsten assured me, reaching over and giving my hand a reassuring squeeze. "That's what families do."

CHAPTER TEN

KAL

I pushed off from my seat and made my way towards the storeroom-turned-medical-room.

Dad's eyes were finally open and I couldn’t believe it! Relief washed over me like a tidal wave, and I barely managed to keep my knees steady.

"Hey, Dad," I said, trying to sound casual. "How're you feeling?"

"Like shit, honestly," he replied, wincing slightly. "Where are we?"
