I asked hesitantly. "Do all Titans have so many kids?"

"Seems like it," he replied nonchalantly. "Radorgirn has four children, and I've heard rumors that the former consort queen is pregnant with her fifth."

"Jesus Christ," I whispered, wondering if Thorsten would get me pregnant again. I didn't know if I liked the idea of having more kids, considering the pain I went through birthing Thor and Loki. But that was a conversation for another time.

"Come on," I said playfully, taking Thorsten's hand and leading him to the master bedroom. Once inside, I embraced him tightly, my unpleasant conversation with Váli at the docks still fresh on my mind. I didn't know if I could trust consuming the poison he'd given me and undergoing the Innangard. I didn't want to lose my life, but I also didn't want to be Váli's plaything.Dark thoughts raced through my mind about the possibility that my family would be better off if I was dead.

"Kal?" Thorsten asked, noticing my worried expression. "The doctors are looking after William, you know."

"I know," I muttered, trying to shake off my unease. "I just... have other things on my mind."

"Like what?" he inquired gently, his silver eyes searching mine for answers.

“Nothing," I whispered, pushing away my worries for the moment. Instead, I let my hands wander beneath his tunic and speak for me as I softly murmured, "I want to make love to you, Thorsten." And with that, I pulled him close and expressed my devotion through a passionate kiss.

"Kal," he sighed, surrendering to our desire as his hands explored my body. The sensation of his skin against mine, the sweet taste of his lips, the beating of our hearts in perfect harmony- it was so intimate, so electrifying, and so real. For those moments of connection I allowed myself to forget the world outside, instead letting our pleasure consume me.

His hands moved lower, teasingly caressing my skin as he softly murmured my name. His touch was hypnotizing and each stroke sent jolts of pleasure through my body. I gasped as his skilled hands continued their journey, wrapping around my cock and driving me wild with desire. His lips joined in the play, searing a trail of kisses down my neck as he whispered promises of ecstasy. He paused for a moment to look into my eyes, thenwithout warning he scooped me up in his arms and cradled me tenderly against his chest.

My breath caught in my throat as he carried me to our bed, gently placing me on the soft fabric and passion overtook us once again. His lips sought mine, hungrily seeking affirmation of my desire, and I willingly obliged with my own fervent embrace.

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

KAL

I awoke with a start, the sound of a knock echoed through the room. I glanced over at Thorsten, who was stirring from his slumber. The clock on the wall read three in the morning; the ship's timbers groaned softly around us.

"Who the hell is it?" I muttered under my breath, still reeling from our earlier passionate encounter. "Are we under attack?"

"Attack? Nah," Thorsten dismissed my concern, yawning as he sat up. "The knocking would be far bolder."

He swung his long legs out of bed and rose to his full towering height, not bothering to cover his naked form. I quickly threw on my robe, feeling exposed beside him. As Thorsten opened the door, there stood Váli, his face an unreadable mask.

'Oh no' I thought, my mind racing. "Is he here to deliver bad news about Dad's recovery?" Anxiety clenched my gut, but then another idea struck me. "No, Váli wouldn't give two shits about a human's health. He must want to discuss that damn Innangard thing again."

"An emergency meeting has been called by the nobles," Váli announced, his eyes flicking between Thorsten and me.

"Can't it wait?" Thorsten asked, clearly annoyed. "Or are we under attack?"

"We're not under attack," Váli replied, shooting me a pointed look that made me squirm. "But this meeting is crucial for unifying the nobles under you completely."

"Unifying the nobles?" Thorsten frowned, clearly puzzled. "What the hell does that mean?"

Shit, I thought, my apprehension growing.

"Can this wait until we reach Hrungnir Keep?" Thorsten asked, his voice tense.

"Delaying will only make it harder to convince the nobles," Váli said firmly. "They need a show of unity now."

"Wait," Thorsten's silver eyes narrowed as he studied Váli. "This is about Kal, isn't it? Well, to hell with them.” Thorsten spat, his anger flaring. "After I defeat Falka, I'll toss the crown in the air like some old human wedding tradition and they can fight over it!"

"Thorsten—" I began, but he held up a hand to silence me.

"Those fools were desperate for a ruler, but still have the nerve to give me a million caveats to make me fit to rule," he growled. "I won't have it."

"I know you're angry, but this is important," Váli insisted, his eyes locked on Thorsten's. "The nobles will follow you."

"Follow me? Oh, they'll follow me," Thorsten said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Except when it comes to my choice of a mate." He shot me an apologetic look before turning back to Váli. "I'm not going to argue with you about this. Just tell me when and where the hell we're supposed to be."
