I nodded.

“It can’t be.” He shook his head. “My fated mate is a damned dwarf of all creatures.” He scoffed.

“A dwarf?!” I said, offended. “I’m not a dwarf! I’m not a creature in a fantasy novel; I’m a human.”

“To us, you are dwarves.”

“You have dwarves in your world?”

“No, they are myths, or at least we thought so until we came here.”

“Why did you come here?”

“If you dwarves had the power to open a portal to another world, wouldn’t you try it too?”

I couldn’t say no to that. The thought that an actual portal could take me to another world was already intriguing. “Was it really a portal?!” I asked, fascinated. “Where is it? Is it like technology or magic? And can you go back whenever you like?”

“If I could, I would, dwarf.”

“I’m not a dwarf!”

“If you say so.”

He stretched his arm. “You look cold; let me warm you.” His offer seemed innocent, but the sharp sensual desire in his silver eyes said otherwise.

I wanted to protest and resist, but I couldn’t find the right words. The look in his silver eyes was fierce and scary, almost as if he didn’t want to say those words to me, but it turned him on to say it. I reached out for his hand, and he pulled me to his lap, forcing me to straddle him yet again. His body was just as wet as mine, but I was heating up fast.

I climbed on top of his hard clothed cock, and this time I didn’t hesitate, and neither did he.

His hips moved again, causing me to gulp hard and give in to his demanding body.

The sound of a motorboat approached; it was the one he called Gio. He parked next to the rail, and the titan stopped and groaned, annoyed.

“Sir!” The black-haired one called out, and the titan with the white hair spoke to him in their language.

He pulled me off his cock and stood up, my own cock hating the abrupt end. Gio lifted me off the rails and placed me in the large boat, and once the white-haired one leaped over the rails inside the vehicle, the one called Gio steered us back to shore where an enormous car waited.

The drive was long, which made sense. I believe Jötun was on record as the largest Sanctuary city created with several sloping layers of its mega-structure. The bottom, the closest to the water, was the poorest of the poor, the dregs of society whose homes were made of tin and torn fabric. They fed off the left behind food wastes of the upper levels. They sorted the garbage into edible food wastes, recyclable, nonrecyclables, etc. They sent the edible food wastes down into a vat, and at the end, were the peoples who lived in the lowest levels and their filthy trays and buckets to catch the food before it spilled on the wet, dirty ground. Those who couldn’t get to the vats had to scrape their meal off the cement, and no one wanted to do that. Above them was the industrial city full of factory workers and indentured servants. They processed the old metals and Irons from scraps. They forged new tools, building materials, everything needed for repairs, and so on. Next was the central city, which took up two levels where the bulk of the citizens tried to live. Full of clubs and businesses, it resembled something of the cities of old. And moving higher than that were the upper districts, whichformed into two layers. First, the wealthy humans who lived in mansions and luxury high rises where the sun could penetrate the landscape, making it warmer than the lower cities. Above was the titan’s castle, the warmest and brightest, a megacity in its own right.

It was as if the city had opened up all its secrets. Oh, how wrong I was to believe that the area I was in was all there was to offer. It felt like a small blip of a much larger map. For the first time, I looked upon the lofty towers, the tallest buildings in the city connected by massive halls and arches like a modern-day castle bathed in white stone.

Nerves shot through me; I was naked save for the damp tunic to provide some modesty. Other titans passed by in business skirts and suits like the scene from an old movie.

I felt even dirtier and out of place in this clean luxurious area, but this man…titan... didn’t seem to care at all. He gripped me and escorted me through the massive white marbled lobby, garnering the stares from the others around while we entered the elevator. Thankfully, no one else was inside.

Once we reached the large white double doors, they opened, beckoning us inside. Kal, you’re not in Kansas anymore. The doors opened to a whole new world, a different world far away from the filth and the slummed-out streets and tech dope fiends.

This was the High Castle.

CHAPTER NINE

KAL

The walls were white marble and the floor, and even the enormous staircase was white, which would have given the room a cold, sterile appearance had it not been for the furniture that filled the room. Beautiful shades of red and gold accented, small banners cover the stair rails, a red color with golden vines etched along with the wood.

Human men and women waited as if they knew he would arrive. They dressed in red and gold tunics and loose pants for the males and a simple knee-high red dress and a gold belt for the women. All wore soft plain white house shoes. They lowered their heads until he snapped his fingers and ordered a woman with short, dirty blonde hair to approach.

“Get him cleaned up.”
