"See these guys? They'll take good care of me." The nurse looked uncertain as she eyed me up and down and took a small step back when she stared up at Atlas who had a case of resting bitch face. She nodded and took the clipboard with a shaky hand.

"Is everything in order?" Atlas grunted. The nurse jumped slightly but nodded. "Good. I'll be back for a chat."

Her eyes went wide as we strode past her and out of the hospital.

When we arrived home I carried her to her room, gently laying her down and packing some extra pillows behind her. Behind me, the door opened, and Luca and Atlas entered.

"What is going on? Why is Catalina here?" Luca demanded.

"Someone is stalking her. They got close to her in the hospital. Thankfully nothing happened, but who knows what they are planning," I said. "Catalina, tell us what she said to you."

We listened as Catalina recounted the conversation with the mysterious woman, Luca's eyes getting darker by the second.

"Atlas, find out what you can," he barked.

"I'm on it." Atlas turned to Catalina. "Don't worry, I'll get to the bottom of it."

Catalina just nodded.

Luca pulled out his phone. "I'm calling Doctor Lawrence to come check up on you."

"No! I mean, there’s no need. I'm fine, Luca. Really."

"Catalina. You were in an accident and have a concussion. You need to at least get checked on a regular basis."

"Really, I-"

"Not open for discussion!" His eyes darkened as he stared at her, and he began speaking into the phone.

She threw up her hands in frustration.

"It's a good idea, Catalina." I packed some more pillows under her broken leg. "How does that feel?"

She nodded, "Good."

Luca hung up the phone. "He'll be here first thing tomorrow." Then he turned to me and nodded towards the door. "Nico, can I have a word with you? Now!"

I rose from the bed where I'd been meticulously stacking and balancing the cushions, stepping back to admire my handiwork with satisfaction. "I'll be right back, Catalina."

What was eating Luca?

I exited the room and Luca followed close behind, pulling the door closed behind him. I waited patiently as he stared at me then started to pace the hallway. He was obviously thinking something but didn't want to, or didn't know how, to tell me. I knew the pace all too well.

I sighed, "For Christ's sake, just spit it out Luca."

He looked up at me, his face serious, then continued pacing.

"What? Did something happen? Another raid? What fucker do I have to kill now?"

Luca shook his head, "No, nothing like that."

"Then what is it?"

He stopped pacing, rubbing his temples with one hand.

"Has she told you?"

"Told me what?"
