“You don’t think you’re moving kind of fast?”

“Baby, this is me going slow. Once I’m in, I’m all in.”

“This is you going slow? Are you serious?”

Nico knew that he was. “Once Liam makes up his mind about something, that’s it. Even if everyone else around him is scrambling to keep up. See, you’ve been ours for a long time, you just didn’t know it.”

“She wasn’t ready then,” Liam said. “She’s ready now.”

“And how do you judge that?” she asked.

“I just know. In here.” Liam patted his chest.

“Just go with it,” Nico said to her. “It’s easier. So, in Liam’s mind you’re already his and if he wasn’t going slow, well . . . ”

“You’d already be under my roof, in my bed,” Liam told her.

A glimpse of panic filled her face and they both stiffened.

“But I am going slow, baby,” Liam reassured her. “So, you don’t have to worry. This goes at your pace. For now.”

“For now?” she asked.

“Well, when you’re ready we’ll move it forward.”

“And you’ll just know when that’s right?”

“Yep.” Liam grinned.

“Not arrogant at all, is he?” she said to Nico.

“Who, Liam? No, not at all. Not our lord and master,” Nico replied sarcastically.

“Anyone would think you didn’t want to come for the next week,” Liam drawled.

Nico sat up straight. “Wait, no, what? I didn’t mean it, your hotness. You’re the epitome of arrogance, so full of ego that it sweats out of your pores.”

Lottie started giggling and Nico gave Liam a smart-assed smirk.

Liam just stared back at him darkly, making him shiver. Oh, yeah, he was going to pay for that.

Nico licked his lips in anticipation.

“But even if this craziness does work, I won’t actually be a Carmichael, will I?”

“What makes you say that?” Liam looked like a giant, lazy cat, leaning back into the corner of the sofa, but Nico sensed the energy amassing inside him. Wanting a way out.

Yep, his ass was in definite trouble later.

“Well, you’re already married.”

She looked between them both, chewing at her lip.

“Is it a problem?” Nico asked nervously. She could ask Liam to divorce him and marry her. Nico didn’t want her to feel left out. But it might just break his heart.

“A problem? Why would it be a problem?” Lottie asked.

Liam was watching him with a narrowed gaze.
