Whatever. It was clearly working. His burning eyes followed her as she sashayed across the room and into the bedroom, his groan verging on a growl when his chair scraped back and his tread followed her.

She was close to the bed when he clasped her arm and spun her around to face him, his eyes all but glowing as his head swooped low and their mouths crashed together. Though revenge pulsed through her, lust was quickly overtaking all other emotion.

Their kiss was urgent, their lips mashing together and their tongues twisting and dancing. She pulled her head back long enough to drag his gray T-shirt up and over his head, then they were kissing again, Aiden propelling her back two steps toward the bed.

Only when she fell on it did he tug off his sweats, then followed her down. That he was shamelessly commando just made her all the hotter, with his cock long and hard as it pressed against her core, announcing his intention even before he thrust his hips and his cock slammed inside her.

She mewled, her eyes closing momentarily as she soaked up the feel of him deep inside her. She really did need him tonight. If this was their last time together she’d clutch onto the memory of how good they were together, of how right they were.

He stroked long and hard, his rhythm natural and unrestrained, forcing pleasure and pressure to build within her. She held his stare, witnessing his open devotion, his feelings for her that could no longer be denied. He really did care about her! She couldn’t stop a rush of pleasure then, and she came with his name bursting from her lips like a benediction, stars bursting beneath her eyelids.

He pulled out, his hot seed spilling on her stomach, her breasts, his hoarse and savage groan doing things to her she didn’t want to acknowledge or think about. Not even a little bit.

He was damn well getting to her again, pulling down her walls brick-by-brick to expose her battered heart.

She gritted her teeth, her pleasure dimming under the weight of her own bitterness, an emotion that was less for him and more for her.

Then he leaned over her and kissed her, his gentleness undoing her festering anger all over again. He pulled back, his eyes soft and warm. “Let me get you something to clean you off.”

She nodded, only vaguely aware of his seed on her skin, soaking into her pores, making them as one all over again. She squeezed her hands into fists, doing everything in her power to regain some semblance of control.

Then he stalked back to her with a warm, damp face cloth, and wiped off his seed. He grimaced. “I can’t believe I took you unprotected. I’ve never been that careless or rash before.” He exhaled. “Though the chances of you becoming pregnant after I pulled out isn’t likely now.”

She nodded, ignoring the odd burn of disappointment that threatened to derail her completely. “Thank goodness,” she whispered.

He nodded, though his stare held hers for longer than seemed necessary. “I know, right?”

She watched him walk back into the bathroom with the cloth, then her lashes fluttered closed as weariness descended and she drifted into sleep.

Chapter Seventeen

Luna couldn’t help but grin as she watched Aiden stalk toward her from across the park. Even at sixteen he had charisma. That he’d soon leave behind his youth and become a man, someone who was going somewhere, going to be someone, excited her, made her even more aware of her powerful feelings for him.

Her grin faded as her eyes narrowed, and she clutched the chain on the swings tighter than normal when she realized his usual swagger was stiffer, his smooth motion uncharacteristically jerky. His face was drawn, yet somehow blank, emotionless, as though his head was emptied of all empathy.

Her pulse now beating frantically, it took everything she had not to run to him and put her arms around him, making sure he was all right. Except her legs had gone weak and rubbery, with her instincts screaming something was very wrong.
