“It sounds like you’ve had this on your mind for a long time,” I noted, my smile widening.

She nodded. “I never thought it would be you, but once we took that step months ago, I haven’t stopped thinking about the future I want with you.”

“Then I’ll be sure to give you everything you want, Rhea.”

Her body melted into mine again. “I love you so much, Wyatt.”

“I love you, too.”

“Do you want to tell our families tonight at the party?” she asked.

I looked down at her to meet her eyes. “What makes you think I could ever keep this a secret? And why would I want to?”

She smiled back at me. “I think they’re going to lose their minds.”

Laughing, I confirmed, “Yeah, they will.”

Rhea bit her lip. “Can we go now?”

“Let’s just grab that ice cream first.”

And twelve minutes after we left the farmhouse, Rhea and I walked into the birthday party my family put together for me with the help of my new fiancée.

When they all learned the truth about the change in our relationship status, it was a close call as to who was more excited about the upcoming wedding—Rhea and me or the people who had been there from the start, supporting us through it all.
