A veil of darkness envelops the Las Vegas streets as I stand in the shadows, scanning the area for any signs of movement. The neon lights of the city cast a surreal glow on the scene while the distant hum of engines and murmurs of nightlife serve as the soundtrack to their mission.

“Church went well,” King’s gravelly voice comes through the earpiece, the connection crackling with static. “They’re all in. We’re takin’ out Shadow and his boys tonight.”

“Good,” I reply as my heart races with anticipation. We need to strike hard and fast against our enemies to protect the club. A surge of determination courses through me, and I clench my fists at my sides, feeling the cold steel of my gun pressing against my palm.

“Keep it clean and quick, brother,” I instruct King, knowing we can’t afford to make mistakes or leave loose ends. “We need to send a message… don’t fuck with the Savage Angels.”

“Roger that, Dane.”

King is eager for action but also aware of what is at stake. They have to trust each other implicitly for this to succeed.

As I stalk the streets, following the trail of Shadow, I can’t help but think about Dirt lying injured in the makeshift hospital bed. If he hadn’t taken the bullet, I might not be here.

The sound of gunfire suddenly erupts in the distance, echoing through the night. Instinctively, I duck behind a nearby car, adrenaline pumping through my veins, and listen intently. King and the Savage Angels are doing their part, taking out the higher members of the rival gang.

I need to find Shadow before it is too late. As I move cautiously through the dimly lit streets, I feel an overwhelming mix of rage and responsibility. The weight of the club’s future rests on my shoulders, a burden I willingly bear for the sake of my brothers.

Finally, I catch sight of Shadow in the glow of a flickering streetlight, his face twisted with anger and fear as he barks orders into his phone. With my heart pounding in my ears, I approach with my gun trained on the rival MC leader.

“Shadow,” I call out. “Your time is up.”

This is the life they have chosen, and tonight, it will be kill or be killed.

Chapter Twenty-One

DIRT

Wincing as I pull myself into a sitting position on the bed, the pain in my shoulder is a harsh reminder I need to take it easy. Steeling myself, I put my feet on the floor and stand. I know I shouldn’t be out of bed, but there is no way I’m letting Dane go to war without me. So through gritted teeth, I try to ignore the throbbing pain, pick up my gun, and head out into the chaos unfolding in the streets of Vegas.

“Where do you think you’re going?” asks Katalyst.

“To the fight. Can I borrow a car?”

“You should be resting.” She studies me for a moment and then holds up a set of keys. “It’s the black beat-up jeep out front. Try and bring it back in one piece.”

“Thanks.”

“And don’t fuck up my handiwork.” Katalyst winks and me. “And be careful.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Shadow and his group of misfits have a clubhouse in West Vegas. It’s northwest of the Strip and known to be dangerous no matter what time of day or night. I climb into the jeep and drive toward the fight.

“Shit,” I mutter as bullets fly between the Savage Angels and the rival gang members on the streets.

“Where’s Dane?” I shout over the sound of gunfire, searching for my president amidst the carnage.

“Over there!” King points, his eyes narrow with concentration as he fires off another shot. “He’s got Shadow cornered!”

My heart races as I see Dane facing off against Shadow, their guns aimed at each other in a deadly standoff. Moving toward them, I notice one of Shadow’s men creeping up behind Dane, a knife glinting in his hand.

“Fuck!” I raise my gun and fire without hesitation. The bullet tears through the would-be attacker’s chest, sending him sprawling to the ground. I grin despite the pain that flares through my body with each step.

Shadow, momentarily distracted by his man being shot, makes it easy for Dane to shoot him. I watch as he flies backward, his body hitting the ground, lifeless. Dane stands over him and fires his gun. Shadow’s head explodes, bone and brain splattering over the sidewalk. He becomes a force of nature, advancing with mechanical precision, methodically eliminating any rival gang member unfortunate enough to cross his path.

As the Savage Angels continue their assault on the rival gang, Sal and his men are striking at the heart of the Abruzzi Crime Family.
