Catherine clenched her jaw trying not to come off super strong, but also not liking that information one bit.

“I understand that you’re nervous. We are too, but how about a little something for your tummy. Maybe some eggs and toast?” Sam’s soft Daddy Dom was already emerging which both excited Catherine and made her nervous. If he was leaning into this and they found out Piper was not compatible with them, he would be hurt too.

No, that’s not going to happen. This is all going to work out.

Piper nodded. “Okay, maybe some toast and fruit?”

“Good girl. Thank you,” Sam praised and Piper seemed to sit up a little straighter as she smiled.

She liked being praised, that was good because Sam loved to do it.

Julie came to the table and Sam ordered for all of them.

When their orders were in, Sam took over the conversation. “Tell us a little bit about yourself.”

“Umm, what do you wanna know?”

“How about telling us what brought you to Rawhide?” he coaxed.

“It's kind of a long story.” She shifted uncomfortably.

“How about we tell you about us and then you can have a turn?” Catherine suggested, hoping that maybe if Piper knew a little bit about them, she would be able to relax a little.

“Okay.” Piper nodded.

“We are high school sweethearts. I was a junior and he was a senior and my brother’s best friend. We learned early on that we both wanted a power exchange relationship and so we learned about kink together. We spent a few years apart while we went to college and then eventually he transferred to my school here in Montana so we didn’t have to be apart. We got our degrees together and started a practice, but then we were offered positions at the Ranch and the offer was too good to pass up. So that’s how we ended up here.”

“That’s the sweetest story I’ve ever heard.” Piper swiped at her eyes. “My story isn’t like that.” She stared at the table with that little insight.

Cat wanted nothing more than to pull her into her arms and reassure her.

“That’s okay! Isn’t it amazing how we can all be so different, yet here we are at the same resort, seeking out things the outside world can’t seem to fulfill.” Sam hit the nail on the head.

Piper raised her head to look at them. Understanding seemed to bloom in her eyes as she slowly nodded. Her shoulders dropped as her body visibly relaxed.

Cat did a little fist pump in her mind. Now they were getting somewhere. “So even if it’s an unhappy story that brought you here, you’re still here.”

Piper nibbled her lip. “I don’t like sex,” she blurted out. Her eyes widened and she slapped her hands over her mouth. “I’m sorry. I just… this whole thing is killing me. I don’t know why we’re here, and I can’t imagine why you want to know me if it's not for sex, so now that you know, I’ll just go.”

She got up to leave, but Catherine wasn’t going to let that happen. Jumping to her feet, Cat commanded, “Young lady, you sit down. You’re making assumptions about us and that’s not fair.”

Seeing Piper startle and her lip begin to quiver, Cat forced a deep breath to calm herself down. There was so much beating around the bush happening and it wasn’t fair to any of them. Sam reached up and squeezed her hand.

“Piper, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have snapped at you. Will you please sit down and listen to what I have to say for a couple more minutes, and if after we tell you what we’re looking for, you still want to go, then no one will stop you.”

“Okay.” Piper's voice shook, but she at least sat back down.

Cat returned to her seat as well having decided to finally just lay it all out on the table. “Listen, sweetie. Sam and I are completely happy in our marriage. We’re not seeking sex outside of our marriage bed. So let’s get that out of the way right now, okay?”

“Okay.”

“I am submissive to Sam, but not always in the ways he would like me to be. And he doesn’t have a submissive bone in his body. We both are natural caretakers and we want to find a Little who would be accepting of that. Someone we can nurture and encourage. Someone we can love and spoil and guide. We’re not looking for a romantic relationship of any kind.”

“Oh.”

“So now that you know why we wanted to meet with you, do you still want to leave?”

The waitress chose that moment to deliver their food to the table and they all turned their attention in that direction. Cat felt like she couldn’t relax until Piper gave them a clear answer, but she didn’t want to force it either. Sam, obviously sensing her tension, gave her knee a reassuring squeeze beneath the table.
