“Oh yeah, that’s very important. You definitely need to let them know if you get yucky thoughts. In my experience, Toppy types, good ones at least, don’t like if their submissive is suffering and doesn’t turn to them for help. Especially if they caused the hurt.”

Pippi sighed. “I promised I would and I’m not allowed to lie because Master Derek is scary.”

Sadie giggled. “He can be, but mostly he’s a big softie.”

“Okay, so what’s the plan? It’s cold and I gotta get to the stables,” Wren said.

A slow and almost devious smile crossed Sadie’s lips. “The plan? Have you ever heard of National Prank Day?”

“Yeah, it’s April first, duh.” Hayleigh rolled her eyes.

“Nope, it’s not. I looked it up, it’s a thing and the Tops expect pranks on April Fools so this will totally catch them off guard. It’s gonna be amazing.”

Pippi’s stomach tightened. She knew about National Prank Day. It fell on her birthday and was one of the reasons she’d confettied the dungeon twenty years ago. “Aren’t you all still in trouble for the green milk?” She tried to deter where she knew this conversation was inevitably headed.

Wren giggled. “The gagging noises people made as they got their milk outta the machine was pretty amazing.”

“It was gross! I almost threw up.” Hayleigh shuddered which only made Wren laugh harder.

“Worth it.” Wren shrugged when she stopped laughing enough that she could talk.

“You all need to learn to keep your pranks outta the kitchen,” Hayleigh mumbled. “Daddy gets all grumpy and who’s the one who’s gotta live with the man? Me, that’s who.”

“Oh, you love it and we all know it.”

“Pfft.” She rolled her eyes and turned away.

“Fine, fine, what if for this challenge we keep the pranks out of the kitchen. It will make us all think a little harder about what we’re gonna do.”

Hayleigh smiled. “I’m in.”

Everyone joined in, nodding their heads and giggling.

Pippi shook her head. “I think I’ll sit out.”

Sadie reached over and gave her hand a squeeze. “We don’t force anyone to go along with our schemes, but will you just keep this little tidbit to yourself? Like you won’t tattle on us, right?”

“I won’t tattle, just don’t tell me details because if someone asks?—”

“You can’t lie,” the group spoke in unison.

Pippi blushed. Had she really said it that many times? She must have.

The bell rang for them all to go back to class and she sighed with relief. She may feel a million times better about the past, but she wasn’t sure she was one-hundred percent ready to join the brat brigade either.

Baby steps.

CHAPTER TWELVE

Catherine felt such a sense of peace after their morning. Pippi seemed really receptive to what they’d said and she really felt like they’d helped her a little bit. She smiled and hummed to herself as she filled out her end-of-the-day paperwork. It was her least favorite part of her job, but she knew it was necessary. Just because they were servicing the inhabitants and visitors of a BDSM resort didn’t mean they didn’t take their jobs seriously.

“You look happy.”

She looked up to see Sam leaning against the door jamb.

“It's a nice change of pace from the last few nights,” he added.

“It is, isn’t it? Amazing what a full heart can do.”
