Pippi swiped the tears from her face. Unacceptable? She thought they weren’t super mad at her. Had she read the situation completely wrong again?

“So while you are cleaning it up, you can think about your naughty choice. I want you to pick up one square at a time and count each and every one as you pick it up and stack it.”

Pippi’s brain just about exploded. “You want me to pick it up one square at a time?”

“Was I unclear?” Mommy raised a brow.

“No… I just… why?”

“Because it’s part of your punishment. Get to it. Daddy and I will take turns seeing patients in his office while you clean. Start with the desk area so we have somewhere to sit, please.”

This was going to suck a whole lot more than she’d ever thought possible. Pippi sighed as she made her way to the desk and started the long and daunting job of cleaning up how Mommy had told her to.

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

“Sixteen thousand three hundred fifty-two,” Pippi told them after finally picking up the last sheet of toilet paper. It had taken all day and well into the evening for Pippi to finish and while they had given her a short break to have some lunch, she was awarded no comfort from them. Catherine hated it. Especially when she could hear Pippi sniffle and see her wiping her eyes every once and a while. She’d had to leave the room more than once to keep from comforting her, but this lesson needed to be learned.

Even if the punishments were harsh, they were not going to turn their backs on her.

Sam whistled. “Wow, little one. That’s a lot of spankings.”

“Y-you’re going to spank me for each sheet?” Pippi’s face turned almost white.

“Each and every one.” Sam nodded.

“We’ll have to spread them out, of course,” Cat explained as it looked like Pippi was going to be sick.

“Yes, I imagine it will take a very long time to repay your debt on this one.”

Pippi seemed to relax at the fact that they were not actually going to spank her that many times right then.

“A long, long time,” Cat agreed. “Like a lifetime.”

Pippi looked back and forth between them before covering her face in her hands and bursting into tears.

They both went to her as quickly as their feet would carry them.

“Pippi, sweetie. Shhhh, you’re okay.” Cat rubbed her back. She knew it had been a difficult day, and she was so thankful she could now give all of the love and reassurance she wanted to.

Sam scooped the crying girl into his arms and they all went back to the couch. Catherine wanted to snuggle her too, so she scooted as close as she could get and hugged her from the other side.

“It’s okay, baby. We’ve got you,” Cat cooed close to her ear. “We’ve got you and we’re never letting go.”

Pippi clung to Sam and seemed to cry harder. “I… I w-w-was s-s-so s-scared,” she sobbed. “I th-thought you w-woulddn’t w-w-want m-me anym-m-more.”

“Oh, sweetie.” Sam kissed the top of her head. “It’s going to take more than a mountain of toilet paper to chase us away.”

“But… w-why? I made a b-big mess.” Piper’s sobs seemed to be slowing down.

“Why? Because we told you we aren’t afraid of bratting. You didn’t harm yourself or us. You didn’t damage any property. It was a completely harmless prank. You were punished and you cleaned up your mess and now you’re all forgiven.”

“S-so you’re not gonna spank me sixteen thousand three hundred fifty-two times?”

“Oh we absolutely will, given the chance. But not because you’re in trouble.”

“Then why?” Pippi sat up and looked at him.

“Because you’re ours and we can,” Cat told her as she leaned in and pushed the stray hairs off of Pippi’s tear-stained cheeks. “We care about you, sweet girl. And we’re not afraid of bratting or pranks or anything like that. If you need to push us, then push as hard as you want, but you have to know we will push back just as hard and we will win.”
