I pause, holding Elena's gaze. She stands by my side, nodding her encouragement.
"Before we face what’s ahead, there's something I need to let you all know." A smile tugs at the corner of my mouth. I’m fucking giddy. "Elena has agreed to be my wife."
Murmurs ripple through the room.
“Smart move,” Lou says. “Once Giovanni is gone, you can take over?—”
“This marriage isn’t about that. It isn’t business.” I bring Elena’s hand to my lips and kiss it. “This woman has stolen my heart.”
“You have a heart?” Liam jokes.
I laugh. “Taking Donovan’s role?”
Liam shrugs. “Since he’s not here, I figured someone should.”
"Congratulations,” my men say, and I believe they mean it. I think they can see it.
