I arch a brow, and my lips twitch upward in amusement. “You don’t have anything I haven’t already seen.”

“What are you going to do with me?”

God, what a loaded question. “What is your name? I assume it isn’t Alice.” The priest had said Elena, I think, but I want to know for sure. I’m filled with questions now. Why did she sell her virginity? Why didn’t she resist when I took her from the church? Why hasn’t she tried to escape?

“Elena.”

Just like the priest said.

“What’s your name?”

"Niko Leone."

Recognition flickers in her eyes, as well as fear. “Il Soldato Della Morte.”

It’s awesome and annoying at how pleased I am that she knows who I am. “That’s right. Are you afraid?”

She purses her lips in an expression that says I should know that she is.

"I’m guessing your dear father and Romeo don’t know about our little encounter. I can’t imagine you’d still be getting married if they did.”

She gives a single head shake. “They don’t know.”

“Has anyone else touched you?”

She swallows but again shakes her head.

A surge of desire envelops me. It’s unwelcome even as it’s insistent. Powerful. Too powerful for me to resist. Without thinking, my finger catches the edge of the towel, tugging it free.

She lets off a soft mewl of fear.

"You've lost weight, cara mia. No doubt from the stress of marrying into the Abate Family. They’re very bad people.”

She nods.

It’s then that I notice the engagement ring on her left hand. “You’re not Romeo’s woman. Take his ring off.” I take her hand, sliding the ring off and slipping it into my pocket. "You're mine, cara mia. Bought and paid for."

Her breath hitches, but she doesn’t shy away. Doesn’t attempt to flee. She’s nervous, for sure, but I suspect it’s more out of concern that I’ll kill her than that I’ll touch her.

"Do you understand?" I ask.

She nods again.

"Good." My gaze takes in her smooth skin. Untouched except by me. "Let's not pretend this is anything but what it is. You're a pawn in a much larger game. You didn’t ask to be a part of it. That’s your father’s fault. But make no mistake.” I lean closer, inhaling my soap on her body. "I play to win."

This close, I can see her eyes, and I remember how they’d made me take notice when I met her. The color of whisky. Her pink lips part slightly, and an urge to kiss her blooms. I pull back slightly, fighting the lure of her mouth.

My gaze drops to her tits, full and round with pink nipples, hard. Is that from the cool air or me?

I rub my thumb over one. "Remember how it felt when I touched you, Elena?”

She nods, and I wonder why she’s not talking. Not even questions.

“You liked it, didn’t you?” I slid my hand over her belly and down to the dark curls guarding her pussy. “You came when I touched you. It was the first time, right?”

She nods again.

“Tell me the words,” I demand, and inwardly, I chastise myself. I don’t need confirmation from her. I’m Niko-Fucking-Leone.
