I kiss her hard. Harder than I want to, but she’s testing my control.

I feel myself hardening again as I taste her sweet mouth. She slides her tongue against mine and my heart races. My strong body trembles.

I know we’re not done exploring each other tonight.

I know we’re not going to be able to keep our hands off one another.

She pulls away softly and stares into my eyes. “Let’s go inside,” she whispers before giving me another soft kiss.

I feel her hand slide into mine and her slim fingers entwine with my big ones. Her hand is so small. So delicate compared to mine. I feel like I’m holding a little bird.

“I could go for a drink,” she says as she heads for the door. I follow her, wondering if this is real. My whole life has felt surreal since I first saw her.

Maybe Maddock put me in a coma and I’m lying in some hospital hallucinating all this.

But it’s too real to be a hallucination.

The sweet smell of her perfume on the breeze, the bounce of her ponytail, the soft feel of her skin. It’s all wonderfully real.

We head inside and kiss a little more in the foyer before making our way into the kitchen.

“What do you have?” Jane asks as she opens the refrigerator and peers inside. I love that she already feels at home. I don’t want her to leave. I want to wake up to her every morning.

I sit on a stool on the opposite side of the island and watch my girl. My eyes drop to her beautiful ass as she bends over and looks in the back.

“Beer,” she says as she reaches in and grabs two bottles. “Perfect.”

I can’t help but smile as she closes the fridge with her hip and places the bottles on the island between us.

“Do you have a bottle opener?” she asks as she opens a random drawer.

“I got it,” I say as I twist the tops off.

Her eyes widen and then she laughs. “Those weren’t twist-offs.”

“All beer bottles are twist-offs to me.”

She shakes her head while smiling at me in amazement. “What’s it like being so strong?”

“Convenient,” I say with a grin. “I only do one trip while I’m emptying groceries out of the car. No matter how big the load is.”

She stares at me in awe. “Wow. I’m so jealous.”

I love talking to her. I don’t think I’d ever get bored of hearing her voice.

I’m not usually a talker. I’ve built up walls to everyone, but she simply stepped over them like she didn’t even realize they were there. I don’t remember the last person I’ve felt this comfortable with. This safe with.

When you find someone like that, you have to cherish them forever.

“What’s it like being so beautiful?” I ask.

She grins at me and then takes a sip of her beer. “I get to flirt with the hottest hockey player in the league.”

“Sebastian?”

She rolls her eyes. “No. You.”

“There are plenty more handsome guys than me.”
