Austa nodded. “That’s where Bear found her walking home from work. She tried to get away but he wouldn’t let her go.”

“What’s your blood type?” Deke finally asked her.

“Well, that’s an odd question.” She stared at him suspiciously. “A very personal one too.”

“Just tell me please?” Deke implored .

Shrugging her shoulders, she replied, “B-positive.”

Deke closed his eyes and looked like he was almost in pain. Then he opened them and turned to call his dad over, “Bones, can you join us for a moment?”

Sam frowned at the interruption and looked over at his son. “What is it, boy?” he asked as he joined them.

“I wanted to repeat this old joke I just heard,” Deke told him. “It’s right down your alley.”

Bones stared at his son in confusion. “The hell, junior? I was in a conversation and you rudely interrupted me.”

“What do you call a happy motorcycle?” Deke asked his dad.

Sam folded his arms over his chest while looking disgusted as he did not reply.

Deke then said, “A Yamha-ha-ha-ha.”

Bones dropped his arms and let out a laugh.

Both Dak and Autsa stared at him with rounded eyes.

“Ok son, that was a good one,” Sam said as he chuckled then he saw the shocked looks on their faces. Turning to his son, he asked, “What the hell is this about?”

“It’s the same subject that seems to always come up around you, Bones.” Deke looked disgusted. “This Forget and Ride On life you lived.”

“Are you ever going to get over my Nomad life? Lots of bikers do that. Grow up, sonny boy.” Sam groused.

Deke looked disgusted as he ignored Sam’s jibes. “Did you ever know a Tawny Drake? She lived in Glens Falls...” Deke paused to look at Austa and asked her, “How old are you?”

Austa slowly shook her head as she said, “I’m 24.”

Deke swung his hard gaze back at his dad, “Did you personally know a Tawny Drake, twenty five years ago?”

Sam glared at his son then looked at Austa and said, “Yeah, I met her on my way to check on you one time, why?”

“Tell me you didn’t sleep with her?” Deke asked with a disgusted sounding sigh that told everyone he already knew the answer.

“Whether I did or didn’t is none of your damned business, son.” Sam growled.

“Well, I hate to ruin your extensive and overwhelming private life, yet again, but it might be our business, Dad.” Deke nodded at Austa. “She has your rare blood type.”

Sam looked poleaxed. “She what?” he growled.

Deke clenched his jaw and said, “She and I share your rare blood type. Do you know what that means, old man?”

“Holy shit and fucken hell,” Sam swore under his breath.

“Plus, you both have the same laugh,” Deke added.

Sam stared at him then looked at her.” No kidding?” Then he shook his head. “Why didn’t Tawny ever tell me?”

Austa looked confused. “Tell you?”
