“Oh si, we do.” Leon stared at her. “We didn’t know where to start or who these men were exactly and as you can see, they were already on the attack. Without your identification and information we would still be looking.”

She shrugged. “You don’t have the whole group yet.”

“Never fear, mia caro. The men you captured will tell us all that we need to know. We will have every last man involved in our custody very soon and they will not be harming anyone else. The Bratva has also captured the men these idiots were conspiring with. In fact, they caught Coil and Venom there with them. So, it is almost done.” He then cleared his throat to say, “I wish to ask if there is anything I can personally do for you. As I understand it, you have been following this Bear and his men around for a long time. Please think about allowing me to help you get started on a life for yourself.”

Austa simply stared at him “Like what?”

“Help with a college fund. Startup for a business?”

Austa stared at him. “I cannot accept money.”

“No, perhaps not, mia caro. But a loan maybe? Just think about it. You never know what the future will bring.” He extended a card to her. “This is my personal number. Used by family and friends only.”

She took the card and gave him a nod.

“If you ever need anything, please simply call me.” He gave her a bow and went over to his dust covered limo to get in. After a moment, his car pulled away.

Another SUV that held Bear’s men now pulled out of the lot as well.

“Wow, men giving you cards right and left,” Dak teased her. “Wish I had one to give.” He chuckled.

Austa shook her head and laughed. “Why? I don’t even own a cell phone. So, it’s not like I will be calling any of them.”

He stared at her and then he laughed. “Ok, so you are twenty four, a female and with the way you look? I am glad you don’t have one.”

She slowly shook her head while feeling confused.

Dak stepped close and tucked a strand of her black hair behind her ear. “I want you all for myself. If you’ll give me a chance?”

Staring at him she said, “When I met you...you told me that you were a Nomad. Does that mean you live the same kind of life, um, this Sam guy did?”

“No...” Dak laughed. “I mean, I don’t bed hop. I love the open road is all. But I feel like I was supposed to find you when Hawk sent me on this mission.”

Wrapping her arms around his neck, Austa smiled. “I’ve traveled enough too. So, let’s just see how it goes, Dak.” Then she paused to stare at him. “Come to think of it, Dak is an odd name right?”

“Yeah and I wondered when you would get around to this.” He kept smiling at her.

“This?” she asked.

“My name stands for Darrian Andrew Knight.”

She stared at him. “You’re kidding?”

He shook his head. “Nope.”

“Wow... now that is a coincidence. Austa is the same, it stands for my name.”

Dak looked surprised. “So what does it stand for?”

Tilting her head at him. “No one but me and my mom, ever knew...I will tell you soon.”

Nodding, he lowered his head and said, “Whenever you’re ready.” He kissed her.
