She glared at him then scoffed. “No, I'm not connected to them somehow.” Her words were full of scorn and she tisked under her breath. “It doesn’t matter why I’m watching them, that’s my business and none of yours. Now go before they find you.”

“Honey, I’m not going unless you go with me,” Dak told her.

“I’m not anyone’s honey...sweetheart. And I’m not leaving just yet, so do us both a favor and just get the hell out of here.” She growled. Suddenly, they heard the sound of footsteps running toward them and she snarled, “Great, you blew our cover and exposed both of us.” She went over to a nearby tree, grabbed a backpack from the lower branch and then turned to rush away.

Dak grabbed her hand and tugged her toward where he parked his ride. Once they got there, he told her to get on.

She shook her head as she put the pack on her back.

Grabbing her arm, he urged her to get on the back of his bike. She had no choice but to climb on behind him. A moment later, they roared off and she had no choice but to wrap her arms around his waist.

Dust flew as he raced down the street and turned the corner before they could be seen.

Instead of stopping, he drove all the way back to the compound.

Once they got there, she asked, “Why did you bring me here?” She looked around. “And where is here, anyway?”

Just then, the door opened and several men came out.

She stared at them. “What the hell did you get me into? This is an MC?” She snarled. “Who are you guys?”

“What did you find, Dak?” Hawk called out as the group moved forward.

Dak looked at his brothers then turned his head to nod at the woman. “I found someone else was watching the group we were trying to find. I found them and there are more than just the four from Troy.”

Hawk muttered under his breath then looked at the woman, “Just who the hell are you, girl?”

She raised an eyebrow at his tone and shrugged. “Who I am doesn’t matter, what matters is what that group of miscreants wants to do here.” Shaking her head she added, “And it ain’t a good thing.”

Hawk cocked his head to one side and asked, “Do you know what they want?”

She shrugged. “Maybe I do and maybe I don’t. After Bear fell, their mission might have changed.”

“How do you know about their mission?” Dak narrowed his eyes at her.

She snorted. “His mission was a failure from conception. He should have known better than to go back to his original MC and try to get it back. Anyone could see the new MC is better than Bear’s could ever be. He was a miserable leader who ruled with fear instead of respect. I guess he never knew that to get respect you had to give it first.”

Hawk stared at her. “You sound as if you know him well. How is that possible?”

She slowly shook her head. “I watched that bastard every day of my life. He came through the town my mom lived in twenty four years ago. He raised hell for two weeks before he went back to Troy and on one of those nights of raising hell, he found my mom. She didn’t have a choice in what he did to her, but she survived it. Then she found out about me. She could have aborted me but she wasn’t raised that way. We lived quietly and she took care of me the best she could. He didn’t find out about me for ten years.” Shaking her head she admitted, “And let me tell you, he wasn’t one bit happy about it either. He didn’t want any girls in his camp but if I’d have been a boy he would have taken me away from my mom no doubt about that.”

“What happened to your mom?” Hawk asked.

She scoffed. “He tried to scare her again but this time she didn’t let him win. She’d taken self defense classes since his last visit and by then she knew how to fight. By the time she got done with him, he was on the floor broken and bloody and we were walking out the door. We moved to another town and she watched for him to find her but he never did. I would sneak back and watch him though. I was curious about him but soon made up my own mind that the man was a total bastard and a loser. I used to catch the bus a lot to our old town and climb a tree to just watch him.” Shaking her head, she admitted, “That dumb asshole never knew I was there watching him either. That’s when I found out that he had three more kids over the years. One of them was the same age I was. Of course, they were boys so he raised them up to be as stupid as he was. Teaching them that they gotta cheat to win a fight. He taught them every dirty trick and they learned very well.”

“What do they call you, sugar?” Dak wanted to know.

“My momma named me Austa. Not sugar.” She glared at Dak. “You shouldn't have forced me to come here. This wasn’t any of your business.”

“Ok Austa.” Hawk stared at her. “But now that you are here, tell us what you found out in all these tree hugging sessions?”

“I watched and waited to find out what his real plan was, and boy, his plans were not normal in any way. Like some men want to build shit. Create businesses ya know? ” She shook her head. “But that man was just plain loco, I mean true bat shit crazy. All about revenge and violence.”

“So what was his plan then?” Pony wanted to know.

“He was gonna take down the MC in Troy and step into their businesses and such, but you probably already know that much. He wanted revenge real bad too for what the Sin’s did to him. He thought because those bastards had to cheat to take the club away they would be easy to beat. With his new club, he would bring back the fear that the town was living under his rule, twenty years ago, then he would build his army up. After that, he intended to come here and take down the Mafia’s empire and rob the city dry. Then he would bring in the cartel and make Boston a huge drug hub.”

Hawk snorted. “We won’t just sit here while that happens. Plus, I don’t think Leon Vincinti will let that happen either.”
