Austa shook her head. “That’s why I was more than happy to see him finally fall in Troy. But that MC didn’t see his sons. They are as mean as snakes and twice as stupid. They called in the rest of his MC and they are gathering now.”

Dak frowned. “How many more are they?”

“He found about thirty-five dirtbags that equal his brand of stupid but Bear and three others died in Troy so there’s only about thirty or so left.”

“How the hell did he think he could take over Troy and show up here in numbers to beat out Leon?” Hawk wanted to know.

“He was gonna kill a few of the Sins’ Bastards then hold the rest of them hostage by taking their families hostage after he got revenge on two of them. I don’t know why he hated these two women so much. But he planned to get them first. He figured the MC were soft enough that all he had to do was threaten their women and kids.” She shook her head. “Only a man like him would do so much more to their women and kids than just threaten them. Like I said, Bear was all about violent monster vibes and he was stupid as a rock.”

Hawk glanced at Dak and then turned to stare at the men behind him. “Sweet Jesus,” he finally swore as he looked back at Austa. “If he thought that would work in his favor then the man never met the Sin’s Bastards that’s for damn sure. Not only can the men fight but so can their women and they wouldn’t have let that happen.”

Austa nodded. “I know and that is what happened too. I was watching the place after I followed Bear there. I heard some of it when it was happening but I couldn’t get close enough to see it. All I know is Bear never came out of that warehouse again.”

“What about your mom?” Pony asked. “Where is she now?”

Austa clenched her jaw. “She’s safe from any harm.”

“What does that mean?” Dak asked her.

Austa wouldn’t answer him.

Hawk raised his hand and ran it over the back of his head. Looking over his shoulder at his men, he exhaled loudly. “I better call Leon to hear what he’s got to say. He’s gonna hate this. We’re also gonna have to get Deke and Iceman here and let them know too. Shit.”

Chapter Three

Dak brought Austa some lunch and a drink.

Sitting at one of the tables, she stared down at the plate and back up at him.

He shrugged. “They got plenty here.” He sat down across from her with his own food and drink. Then he proceeded to have his meal.

Austa ate hers and she had to be starved as she made fast work of the sandwich and chips.

Dak took note but he knew better than to comment. The girl had a real hard attitude. Not that he could blame her really. To have a father like Bear? To follow him around as the man ruined lives? It couldn’t be easy. He wondered though why she kept at it and all alone? Why? That was one of the mysteries that bothered him.

“Why are you staring at me?” she snapped.

“I was wondering why you continued to follow his men after Bear was killed?”

Shrugging, she replied,” Why did you do the same thing?”

Dak paused.” My prez asked me to see if these rumors were true about Bear being alive.”

“So, you didn’t know Bear personally?”

Dak shrugged. “No. I’ve been on the road for a long time. I was with the Sinners here in Boston for about 5 years, then I went nomad and visited other MCs across the US.”

“Why?” She stared at him.

Dak laughed. “Why not? I mean I wanted to see the United States in all its glory and see what other MCs were up to.”

“And what was that verdict?” she asked.

Dak cocked his head at her and replied, “The USA is a beautiful place, but the motorcycle clubs are not real great. I found a few that were honorable clubs but for the most part? They weren’t real clubs, they were hobbies. Like married men just ‘biking on the weekends’ type of thing. Not a serious ‘live the life’ riders, you know?”

Shrugging, she said,” That’s because they are either the lawless kind or the boring husband kind, I suppose?”

Nodding, he chuckled. “Well, I’m finally home and I ended up finding out that the Boston Sinners are the real deal and the best club I know.”
