Looking around at the men in the room, Austa slowly nodded her head.” It must be nice to have a home to return to.”
Dak paused at this and opened his mouth to ask.
Standing from the table, Austa hurried away towards the bathroom.

Three hours later, Deke, Sam and Iceman roared into the compound on their cycles.
Iceman saw Leon’s limo pull in the dooryard and he pursed his lips together. This meeting was all about the same bullshit Bear had been pulling before and now even though he was gone, it was still brewing.
When they arrived, they had to wait for Pony to open the gate.
Now he closed it behind them. Pony walked up to the men from Troy and nodded his head at the clubhouse. “You’re just in time. We got new information about ole Bear’s new club.”
Deke frowned. “His new club?”
Sam snorted. “He’s a dead man with a new club?”
Iceman nodded. “Like how’s he gonna run it from hell?”
Pony snickered. “Good questions, right? We waited for you guys to get here to learn more about them.”
Sam scoffed. “Well this, I gotta hear about.”
The four of them walked into the clubhouse.
Iceman nodded at Leon and Calderone. He also noted several of Leon’s guards situated all around the room.
The rest of the group was waiting for them.
“Well what did we miss?” Deke asked as he sat down and someone put a beer in front of him.
Hawk nodded at Austa and said, “Everyone, I’d like you to meet Bear’s daughter, Austa.”
Everyone stared or shook their heads at her.
Austa raised her head and glared back at them all. “Well, we don’t get to pick our parents. Now do we? I was born of a rape, something I’m sure you all know Bear was very good at. So don’t you judge me, you don’t have that right.” She snarled.
“I’m sorry my dear, you are correct,” Leon said smoothly. “Please tell us what you know about this man’s MC.”
Austa took a deep breath and exhaled. “This is what my mom told me. After Bear lost his old club he moved from Troy to Glens Falls. He laid low for a while then began to gather some men. They stayed under the wire for a long time but then began to make their presence known. They were a true 1 percent club.”
Sam looked puzzled as he asked, “Where do you come into the picture?”
“I was born before Bear lost his old club. He came through Glens Falls just before Deke and his friends came to Troy. He raped my mom then went back to Troy. That was when he lost his club. My mom moved to a new town to start over. She moved to a place closer to Lake George where she found a job working at one of the resorts there. It wasn’t really a town at all. More of a village the people at Lake George lived in. We didn’t see Bear for awhile again and then when I was ten, he just showed up one day. He looked at me and got mad at my mom. He screamed at her that girls were useless to him and if she was gonna have his baby, she should have had a boy. He began beating on her again but this time she was ready for him. She fought back and when they were done, it was Bear laying on the ground broken and bleeding. Mom and I just walked away from him and we were on the move again. She knew that Bear would come after her again and that this time, he wouldn’t be alone. We moved to Saratoga Springs and we got lost. We kept our heads down and we both took self defense classes. Mom began preparing me for a time when she was no longer there. I hated it but she got me ready. We had a plan.” Her words wavered at the end as she hung her head and was silent for a moment. Then she raised her head and began speaking again, “That day happened four years later when Bear showed up again. Only this time he wasn’t alone and this time mom and I didn’t walk away. I walked away but that was only because Bear didn’t know where I was. After my mom was down, he trashed the house looking for me but he didn’t find me.” She shook her head and didn’t speak for a few minutes.
Then men all waited silently. Most of them looked pissed off or disgusted as they slowly shook their heads.
Then she spoke again, “I followed my mom’s plan. I watched, waited and learned everything I could about that monster. I found him in Glens Falls and I watched him for two years.”
“What did you find there, watching him?” Leon asked.
“He had four sons my age or a little younger. I saw his numbers grow and how he trained his men. I heard them talking and I heard his plans.”
“And what did you hear about his plans?” Deke asked her.
Austa looked at Deke and said, “I learned that he had plans for your MC. He was going to go into Troy with only a few men and take back what he thinks you stole from him. He was going to pit your men against one another and in the chaos he was going to come after you and a Gator?”
