Deke nodded. “Gator is my VP and a very good friend.”

“If that failed, he would make a surprise attack on the compound and take as many of the women and kids he could find. He figured you would protect them. He still planned on killing you and Gator but he would also kill the rest of the members he left behind then he would force the rest of your men to join him in the attack on Leon and his men. He figured when all was said and done, he would take Leon’s place in this city and then he would be in position to turn Boston into a cartel city.”

“What would he do to our women and kids?” Iceman demanded to know.

Austa just looked at him but didn’t have to say a word. After a moment she shook her head. “He was bat shit crazy, like I told you.”

“Do you know the name of his MC?” Sam wanted to know.

“He called them the Serpents of Hell. He dropped his Bear handle and renamed himself King. His VP goes by the name Slither and his sons are named Coil, Venom, Fang and Viper,” she informed them as she looked totally disgusted. “Insane, right? I mean was he writing a movie script? Like how delusional was he?”

“He was cocoa puffs for most of his life, girl,” Sam quipped. “So crazy that it made him hard to kill apparently.”

“In the end, death finally came for him,” Leon stated quietly.

Dak nodded. “And that should have been the end of it. But Bear had deeper plans than just what you all heard from him. He was building an army to take over more than one empire. Her and I found these men down by the water in an abandoned warehouse. They might have seen us but I got us out of there before they could be sure we were even there.”

“How many men has he gathered so far?” Hawk wanted to know.

“About half of his crew is here already,” Austa told them. “His sons Coil and Venom were in Tory and they know about their dad being killed.”

“Who is leading the MC now? Slither?” Pony asked.

Austa shook her head. “No, Coil is in the leader’s position. It should be Slither but Coil pushed him off to one side. The men aren’t happy about that either.”

“Why is that?” Prosper wanted to know.

“Because they know Coil is taking after Bear and that he’s gonna get them all killed. He doesn’t have the discipline or leadership ability Slither does.”

“So in other words, he’s a ticking time bomb. Is that what you’re saying?” Sam asked.

Austa nodded then turned to look at Leon. “And this city is his point of power. He wants to rip you out of your seat of power here and drag this city into hell.”

“Not on my watch he won’t.” Calderone growled.

“Not on ours either,” Hawk echoed his statement.

“We’ll stop them in their tracks,” Leon vowed. “Make them rue the day they thought they could just come in here and take over. They want a war, we’ll show them war in our town, our way. By the time we get done with them, they won’t know what hit them. They want to take over my role here? They’ll have to take it from my cold dead hands.”

Chapter Four

“So what exactly is the plan?” Sam asked.

“We know where they are, or rather where they were.” Dak shrugged. “They might have moved from that warehouse by now. If they were really worried about being spotted they would move their operation but I’m not sure they are that smart.”

“Oh, they aren’t that smart.” Austa snorted. “But what they’ve probably done is sent their men out to look around the city and see if they can find any allies here. Some faction that will stand with them. Although anyone who does will be put in front of their men and when the shooting starts, the Serpents will run and hide rather than risk getting shot.”

“So if we can take them down before they find their niche, that would be better for us,” Calderone agreed.

Austa nodded. “But to get them, you are gonna need some serious firepower. They are just stupid enough to think they can’t be stopped.”

“Did you hear anything else in your treetop position?” Leon asked.

Austa nodded, then went on, “After Boston, they were going to New York City and take down the power there. Bear had them almost salivating with that plan.”

Leon glanced at Calderone then looked at Hawk and Iceman. “He wanted to take down the Bratva of New York?”

Austa nodded. “I think that’s what he called them, some big wigs from Russia, I think.” She shrugged. “I never heard of them before but his eyes glazed over when he talked about them.”
