“Just to see if you have heard anything more on Kylie?”

“So far, I know that she can’t get the paternity test done for another two weeks. Then it will take a few days to a week to get the results back. If you are telling the truth, this will all be over in less than a month. But if you are lying, I don’t know what’s going to happen. There’s no way to prove whether she was a willing participant or not. Or even if it was conceived in the office.” Sera hated talking about this.

“I have never had sex in this building, and the kid is not mine.” He leaned back in his chair with confidence she herself didn’t feel. She knew for a fact that he had sex in this building … with her.

“I hope so, Harrison, because I’ve had your back on this, and if you have lied to me, I will never trust you again,” she said truthfully.

He rubbed his hands over his face. “I never touched that woman. I don’t even know why she’s going through all this.”

“I wish I knew also,” she replied as a text came in, and she glanced at her phone. She was getting texts from the girls about meeting up in a few hours.

Harrison glanced at the phone that was dinging at a steady rate. “You suddenly got popular.”

“Just a group text.” She grabbed it and shut off the sound. It seemed that the girls were going out again tonight, but she wasn’t going to this time.

“You can answer it. It’s after hours.” He looked at it again.

“No, they’ll be okay. I have to get these reports done.” She picked up one to show that she was going to do it, but she was really done for the day. She hated the reports.

“See you later then,” Harrison said but didn’t move.

“I’ll call you as soon as I know anything else,” she answered as her phone buzzed on the desk again.

His eyes were on it as he backed away from her office. In disappointment, she watched him go, wishing he had turned around. He had a nice butt, and she could use a glimpse of it tonight.
