She shook her head as if to clear it. “What?”

“Your folder is green today. I never see you with green.” He leaned over and taped the tiny bit he could see.

“Green is for senior partners. Complaints and requests,” she admitted. He had thought it was all random.

“Why not manila?”

“They’re boring. I like color in my life,” she said as if she didn’t always wear the same drab colors. He couldn’t remember her wearing any other color except in the bar that night.

“Are we done here?” he asked.

“Yes, for now. I have to interview Kylie Nash at some point. I have decided to talk to Aspen Andrews. Do you think Kylie will have an issue with her?”

“I don’t think so. I don’t even know if they know each other. Why her?”

“She’s leaving in two weeks, so she has as close to no interest in the case as I can get. Do you know her?”

“Not really. She’s a personal lawyer; I’m corporate.” He had heard the name but couldn’t put a face on it.

“Okay, please stay away from her … and Kylie, if you actually see her,” Seraphina stated as he got up from the chair.

“Don’t worry. I will.”

“Good. I think I’m done with you for a while. I have more interviews today and tomorrow about this.” Her smile was dimmed today, and he missed it.

“Have fun with that,” he said as he walked out the door.
