Behind her, there was a pounding on the door. “Sera, breakfast is ready. Kick your man out and come down.”

The sound made Harrison jump. He was sure that everyone in the house was sleeping but them. It might be why he had assumed that Sera would be cooking, that and she was the mom. Except there were two trained chefs in the house and five adults that could do it.

“Buzz,” she whispered.

“There’s no way they’re already up.” He stood up straight in surprise. Most of the women had only been home for around two hours.

“Yes, they are.” She turned and opened the door again.

As she went down the stairs, he followed, listening to the voices coming from the kitchen. They weren’t quiet and subdued at all, considering the time of the day.

“Told you he was still here,” Harper stated loudly as he caught sight of nearly everyone in the kitchen.

“I didn’t say I thought he was gone. I said I thought she would be gone,” the redhead argued.

“Why would she still want to be here this morning? I for one would never be caught dead with a man in this house,” Agatha said from a stool. Harrison noticed she was the only one wearing the same outfit she had on the night before.

“Don’t you mean men, Ag?” Harper stated.

“Jealous,” Agatha shot back.

“Morning, girls,” Sera called to them,

“Morning, Mom,” they all called in unison.

“Harrison, you want something before you go?” Harper asked, turning from her sister to him with a smile. A welcoming smile for a girls-only event.

“Sure,” he answered before Sera could kick him out.

Walking into the kitchen, he knew immediately he had made a mistake, as all eyes turned to him. Three of the women shifted seats, leaving one open right in front of Harper and her spatula. The friendly offer wasn’t friendly at all. This was an interrogation.

“Morning, ladies,” he said, wishing now he had just stayed in bed like Sera had asked him to.

“Cinnamon roll or pork chop?” Lucy asked. He knew it was Lucy because she was helping with the food. He knew it was going to take time to actually tell the two apart. Last night, it had been easy to tell them apart when they were sitting and not moving around. Now they were dressed alike and seemed like they were trying to be identical twins.

“Pork chop,” he said, knowing she was testing him but not what the correct answer would be.

Lucy smiled and filled a plate for him, then looked over at her twin and winked.

“Do you have any kids, Harrison?” Buzz asked from beside him, her red shirt with the word Buzz spelled out in orange letters clashing vibrantly with her red hair.

“No,” he answered like always, then stopped and smiled. “Actually, I have two daughters. I recently met them.”

“Oh, I hear a scandal. Does Sera know about this?” Buzz was nearly bouncing in her seat now.

“Yes, she does,” Sera answered for him. “Where are Emma and Violet?”

“Sleeping,” Agatha stated because she would have been the one to know.

“We will have to talk to them today,” Sera added and touched his shoulder.

“I will have to talk to my mom also.” Harrison took her hand in his.

“You have a mom?” Buzz asked. “Can I call her grandma?”

“Buzz,” Sera’s voice held more humor than warning. Oddly, it had been Buzz who had wanted to call Harrison dad also.

“Do you have siblings?” Buzz ignored her mom. “I need some hot cousins. Or hot uncles … hot uncles would be awesome.”
