Jaz, He’s your mark! Keep your head in the game!

As if sensing my thoughts, Dario looks over at me with a devilish grin, and my skin tingles. He's like a predator stalking his prey, but I refuse to let myself become his next meal.

Focus. With narrowed eyes, I mentally prepare for whatever move he's about to make.

Suddenly, Dario's Ferrari takes a sharp maneuver, forcing me to react just as quickly. I can feel my heart pounding against my ribcage, my hands gripping the steering wheel until my knuckles turn white.

As our cars speed along the narrow streets, inches away from colliding, I know that one wrong move could spell disaster for both of us.

"Come on, you bastard," I growl under my breath, doing everything in my power to stay ahead of him. "You won't beat me."

As the race continues, I draw from every ounce of determination and skill I possess. But with Dario right beside me, exuding an air of danger and allure, it's hard to ignore the undeniable chemistry between us.

I barely have time to react as Dario's car suddenly swerves towards mine. My instincts kick in, and I jerk the steering wheel to avoid a collision. The tires screech as my Mazda RX7 skids dangerously close to the edge of the Tarpeian rock, the ancient cliff known for its perilous drop.

"Shit!" I hiss, fighting to regain control over my car while glancing nervously at the precipice hurtling past below.

I grit my teeth and slam my foot down on the accelerator, determined to make up for lost ground. The wind whips through my hair as my car speeds along the treacherous course, adrenaline coursing through my veins.

"Nice move, Bella," Dario taunts, his voice crackling through the listening device The AISI Agency had secretly installed in his Ferrari FXX. "Ma vediamo se riesci a stare al passo." – Catch me if you can.

"Watch me," I reply coolly, pushing my car to its limits as we race neck and neck towards the finish line.

"Jasmine, don't do anything reckless," my AISI handler, Elena, warns through the radio. "Remember your mission is to get close to Dario. Butter up to him, not beat him."

"Trust me, I know what I'm doing," I assure her, though my heart hammers anxiously in my chest. The stakes are higher than they've ever been, and failure is not an option.

As we approach the final stretch, Dario's car inches closer to mine, our vehicles nearly touching. I can feel his intense gaze on me, and I feel goosebumps. My attraction to him is impossible to ignore, but I can't let it cloud my judgment.

"Almost there," I murmur, my eyes fixed on the finish line. "Just a little further…"

Suddenly, Dario's Ferrari makes an involuntary sharp move when another racer bangs into him from behind, forcing me to swerve once more.

But this time, the limits take their revenge on me for pushing them too far; my car teeters dangerously on the edge of the Tarpeian rock, its tires screeching against the gravel as it threatens to plummet over the side.

"Jasmine!" my handler shouts in my ear, her voice filled with panic. "Hold on!"

The world around me seems to slow down as I stare at the sheer drop below, my life suddenly hanging in the balance.

My heart races, and I know I have only one chance to save myself—and complete my assignment.

"Here goes nothing," I whisper, gripping the steering wheel tightly as I prepare for one final, desperate maneuver.

Summoning every ounce of courage within me, I release the pressure on the accelerator, allowing my Mazda RX7 to glide closer to the precipice.

Adrenaline surges through my veins, heightening my senses as time seems to stretch impossibly thin. There is no room for error as I prepare for this audacious leap of faith.

With a primal roar, I jerk the steering wheel sharply to the left, guiding my car away from certain doom. The tires screech and strain against a rock I hadn't noticed and the next thing I know, the car jerks forward, towards the cliff.

My heart pounds in my chest as the car lurches forward, half hanging off the edge of the Tarpeian rock. Time slows to a crawl as I feel the weight of impending doom pressing against my thoughts.

The back tires desperately cling to solid ground, their grip tenuous at best, while the front end dangles perilously over the chasm below.

I reach out, my fingers desperately grasping for the door handle, but with each movement, the car teeters dangerously close to oblivion.

Every fiber of my being screams with the realization that one wrong move could send me hurtling to certain death.
