And then I close the app and stalk off to bed, laying my head on the pillow and closing my eyes with a smile.

I don’t know what just happened but I found the woman I have been looking for for the whole of my life.

And in two days, I’m gonna kiss her ruby lips and touch her like a damn addict jonesing for a fix and claim her for my own.

CHAPTER 3

Trinity

My thighs clench on the vinyl seat yet again. I tug and pull at the short skirt of my dress. I’ve gained a few pounds and the skirt is stretched to the max across my thick thighs. It was the only thing I had to wear though. It’s not like I date a ton.

“This isn’t a stupid idea. I need this. I need him.”

And like I called him to me, all of a sudden he’s standing in the doorway. My breath stills, sucking in sharply.

He’s fucking gorgeous. His ice-blue eyes dart around the room and then like a heat-seeking missile, they lock on me, narrowing to blazing slits. I swear I hear a growl in the room and shivers wrack my body.

Icy tendrils dart up my spine and my slim fingers clench on the long stem of my wine glass. My eyes widen and he stalks across the dim, packed room to stand in front of me.

“Trinity,” he snarls roughly. He sounds like a beast.

My brows knit. His blue eyes flash as his blazing gaze slowly trails up and down my body. I know some men find my extra curves and hollows a little much but this guy looks like he could eat me up. Shudders wrack my body and I feel a pulsing ache between my clenched thighs.

“Leo?” I question, my voice trailing off on a gulp.

“Yeah.” Just one word. It’s like pulling teeth with this one.

I hold out my hand and stand up, wincing when I realize I barely come up to the middle of his big, barrel chest. His strong jaw is clenched and partially concealed by at least a few days’ worth of whiskers.

A quick flash of those whiskers burning as they rake over my thighs and his tongue sinks inside me and I’m burning up with a fever unlike anything I’ve ever felt before.

His big paw closes around mine and I reach out, tentatively, looking for that link that a witch like me craves. The instinctual recognition that the person in front of you is just like you.

But there’s nothing there. My brow crinkles and I move closer. His big hand drops mine and then he grabs me and pulls me taut into his big, warm body. I gasp, electrical charges shooting up and down my skin, the raging heat of him settling into my bones and burning me alive.

I push at his chest and my fingers can’t resist sinking into his muscular pecs. He’s hard as hell and my fingers trail up until I slip them into his long locks, pure pleasure trickling like warm honey down the length of my arm. His hair is silky, chocolate brown. He’s tanned, toned and so damn growly, rough rumbles vibrating that huge barrel chest like thunder rolling over the forest.

I glance up at him from under my dark lashes. His cheeks are taut with tension and I swear I see a beast curl behind his eyes.

But when I reach out to him, I don’t feel the supernatural vibe that all of us have. With witches it’s not as strong as with shifters or vampires. Even demons. But it’s still there.

There’s nothing with this man. Just darkness. I struggle to pull away from him but he doesn’t let me, his mouth darting down and I freeze when his warm, soft lips barely touch mine. His big hand curls into my jaw, cradling it gently even as his lips part and his tongue lashes at my teeth, my tongue, the inside of my cheek. He’s everywhere and I can’t quell the raging inferno roaring up inside me.

His fingers sneak around and wrap inside the back of my hair, tugging painfully and trapping me under his spell. I can feel power zapping through his body but it’s not witch or shifter. I don’t know what it is but it’s not any supernatural I’ve ever felt.

Whatever this man has isn’t supernatural like me. And I don’t want any child of mine not to be a witch.

This has to stop.

I pull away sharply, gasping, my fingers touching my lips, surprised when I see blood on my fingers.

“What are you?” I gasp, my blood chilling immediately from the wild hunger still thrumming inside me.

His brow lifts. “I’m human. So are you.”

I snort. “I’m a little more than that.”

“Well, so am I.”
