“All right, ladies. Let’s get this pre-show ritual out of the way,” she said.

Double shots of tequila appeared, which the band tossed back, followed by high-fives in a specific order. The shots were tradition, and being a superstitious lot, the musicians carried on tradition each time they played.

The band started stretching and doing jumping jacks in place. They all wore their onstage outfits.

“What are you doing?” Aiden laughed, looking around with disbelief.

“Warming up,” Bex answered. “We’re up there dancing around for an hour. We need to stretch first.”

Aiden scoffed. “Okay then. I guess I never thought about it.”

“This is a six-string circus,” she reminded him. “We’re about to head onstage to put on a show. It’s all an act. Think about it. You know me. I don’t normally look like this.” She gestured at her outfit. “I’m still me, I just look fancy.”

“True. I guess I never thought about it.”

Bex leaned toward him and kissed him. She smiled at him. “Watch from the curtains backstage. You’ll love it.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Greg knocked on the door and popped it open. “Time to go, ladies. You’re on.”

The band formed a line and filed out of the dressing room, Bex leading the way. She gestured to Aiden to show him where he could wait and watch the show.

Bex threw her arms in the air as she walked onstage, shouting “Arrrrre you reaaaaady?”

The crowd roared from their seats.

“Arrrrree you reaaaaady?” she shouted again, getting a louder roar.

The band launched into their first song. Bex sang and danced, keeping the energy up. She grabbed her fiddle and played her heart out when the time came.

She kept the energy high, dancing and jumping around the stage, riling up the crowd.

For an hour, Bex sang, fiddled, and danced with the energy of the crowd.

The band took their bows and ran offstage with the approving roar of the audience.

“Woohoo! That never gets old!” Jade drummed every surface she could reach.

“One hour and everyone needs to be back on the bus,” Greg walked by and yelled.

Bex’s gaze fell on Aiden, waiting behind the curtains on the side of the stage.

His adam’s-apple bobbed as he looked her up and down and swallowed. Her gaze trailed over the hard ridges of his body and watched his hands slide into his back pockets as he waited for her. The wolfish, hungry look in his eyes devoured her the minute his gaze reached her. He wanted to eat her alive. The look immediately turned her on.

“Phenomenal,” he breathed into her ear and sidled up against her the first chance he got.

“Thank you,” she murmured.

“I need you. Now,” he whispered in her ear. He pressed his body against her back as they moved toward the dressing room. She could feel his hard length.

Bex cleared her throat and announced, “I’m going to give Aiden a venue tour. We’ll see everyone back on the bus.”

She was sure everyone knew what they were up to, but she didn’t care. She pushed Aiden to the side away from the group walking down the hallway and tugged him backward, towards the stage.

He pushed her against the wall and his lips found her neck just as the group disappeared around a corner.

“Watching you on that stage,” his lips trailed up her neck, “Beautiful. Sexy. Gorgeous. Made me hotter than ever. Mine. All mine.”
