“Huh?” Dad’s face goes blank. “Come again, sweetheart?”

“I said I wanted to help you with the campaigns on omega rights,” I say in a louder voice. “I think I can use my art to draw attention to the truth. Also being an omega myself, my words and actions will carry more weight and help others know the reality of our struggles.”

Dad stares at me like he’s seeing me for the first time.

“Don’t look like that,” I mumble, feeling a hint of embarrassment. “I’ve grown up, you know. I want to do something important too and help as many omegas as I can.”

“Gods, my baby girl,” he gasps in a choked-up voice and pulls me into a hug. “I’m so proud of you, honey.”

Dad would’ve kept on hugging me if the sound of footsteps didn’t distract him. Breaking away, he quickly wipes his eyes before my mates come back with their parents.

Seth, Oliver, and Simon stand in the corner as Valerie and her mates approach us.

I instantly recognize Aldrich, the eldest among Seth’s dads.

A smile lifts the corners of Aldrich’s lips as he waves at me. “How’re you doing, Rory?” he greets me.

“I’m doing good,” I say, returning his smile. “How have you been?”

“I’ve been kind of busy with the recent arrests but all in all, can’t complain.” Pulling Valerie closer, he kisses her cheek.

Valerie’s smile grows wider.

“Here, let me introduce you to my brothers,” Aldrich says, keeping his arm wrapped around his mate’s waist. “This is Benjamin,” he says, pointing to the tall man with wisps of silver in his charcoal-black hair.

“Hello, Rory,” he says, moving closer to me. “It’s so nice to finally meet you.”

Getting to my feet, I shake the hand he offers me. “It’s great to meet you too.”

Wrapping an arm around my shoulders, he turns me toward the two lean men standing beside Aldrich.

“Meet Henry and Daniel,” says Benjamin.

Henry and Daniel share the same shade of auburn in their hair. They look slightly younger than Aldrich and Benjamin but are just as friendly. They take turns to shake my hand and greet me.

“Here, let me introduce you guys to Philip,” Charlie says, shakily getting to his feet. “He’s Rory’s dad and the mayor of Maplewood.”

I watch as they welcome Dad into their home. Valerie and her mates have warm smiles on their faces as they talk to him.

A heavy weight seems to lift off my chest.

The Burton Pack has truly accepted me. They’re treating me and my dad like old friends. My awkwardness soon vanishes and I suddenly feel warm and cozy.

Seth comes over to me and leans in. “How are you feeling?” he whispers so that only I can hear him.

“Absolutely amazing,” I say, smiling up at him. “This place feels like home now.”

He kisses my lips and smiles. “I’m glad you feel this way.” Looking toward his brothers, he makes a strange gesture at them.

Before I know what they’re up to, I suddenly find the three Burton brothers on their knees before me.

The scene doesn’t go unnoticed by the rest of the people in the room.

“What are they doing?” Valerie whispers.

“Are they doing what I think they’re doing?” Dad says in a surprised voice.

“The boys are proposing to their mate!” Charlie shouts jubilantly.
