My eyes widen as I meet each of my mates’ eyes. The ardent seriousness in their gazes makes my heart pound with a mix of emotions and suddenly I feel breathless.

They declared me as their mate a long time ago but it hits differently as Seth holds up a beautiful, sparkling ring.

“I never thought I’d meet someone who makes me feel such strong emotions,” Seth says in a deep voice that reverberates through me. “I can kill for you just as easily as I can die for you, Rory. I love you.”

His words ring in my ears before sinking into my heart.

“Will you be my mate for life?” he asks, staring deep into my eyes.

I want to say so many things to him but all I can do is nod and manage to blurt a shaky “yes”.

“Simon and I have been looking for you all our lives,” Oliver says, drawing my attention to him. “Every moment we spend with you feels like a second. No one can make us as happy as you, Rory. You’re our best friend and the best mate we’ll ever find. You’re the only one who can bind us all together and make a pack out of us.”

His words make my eyes prick with tears. I feel so overwhelmed that I can’t decide if I want to cry or smile.

“Will you be our mate for life, Rory?” Simon asks, his eyes shining with emotion.

I nod. “Yes!” I say in a choked voice. “A hundred times yes. A million times yes!”

I feel like I’m standing before three suns as my mates get to their feet. Their smiles make my heart dance with joy.

Coming closer, Seth slips the ring on my finger and captures my lips in a searing kiss.

A loud cheer goes around the room as our families shout encouragements. I smile against Seth’s lips as happiness and warmth surge through me.

When we break away, I’m hugged by both Oliver and Simon.

“You’re ours now,” Oliver says, squeezing me tight.

“Yours,” I promise, feeling like my heart would burst with happiness.

“I love you, Rory,” Simon says, kissing my forehead.

“I love you too,” I say, pressing my lips to his.

It takes a while for me to calm down enough to think and speak clearly. When I finally feel like my brain can form a proper sentence, I turn toward Seth.

“When did you guys plan all of this?” I ask.

An amused grin lifts his luscious lips. “Just a couple of minutes ago.”

“What?”

“We bought the ring a long time ago,” Oliver explains, smiling brightly. “Seth always carries it around with him. When we saw that everyone was gathered together, we decided this was the best time to pop the question.”

Closing my eyes, I rest my head against Oliver’s chest.

“What’s the matter?” Simon asks. “Was this too low-key? Did you want a grander proposal?”

I shake my head. “No, this was perfect.” Raising my head, I let them see the blush spreading through my cheeks. “I was truly surprised,” I say, chuckling. Glancing around at Dad and my new pack, I smile. “Everyone I love is right here with us. This was the perfect time. And to be honest, I’m glad you didn’t waste another second to make our bond official.”

Three pairs of arms come around me, enveloping me in warmth and love. For a moment, I go back to the time when I was a prisoner in those hellish underground cages. I could’ve never imagined a day like this would ever come in my life.

Taking a deep breath, I soak in my mates’ scents and allow myself to fully enjoy this moment.
