“How was your day?” I ask, entering the small room that serves as a temporary office space for me.

“It was just an ordinary day,” he says, pulling me closer. “I went through all my duties while my heart kept counting the hours until I could go to you.”

A giggle escapes me as I hug him tightly. “I missed you too.”

“Let’s get out of here,” Seth says, grabbing my scarf and handbag from the table. “Now that I’ve seen you, I want to meet my second favorite lady.”

I chuckle. Seth is talking about his baby niece who was born this week.

Iris had her baby and is still recuperating at the clinic. Since both Seth and I have been coming to town this week because of our jobs, we’ve been able to meet them every day.

“I bet Simon and Oliver want to be there too,” I say, thinking of my twin mates. “It’s a shame they got sent to Washington just after our niece was born.”

“The baby’s not going anywhere,” Seth says. “She’ll be right here when they come home in a few days.”

“I miss them,” I groan.

“I know, love,” he says, hugging me.

Taking a deep breath, I smile. “It’s getting late. Let’s go.” Since Seth is already carrying my handbag, I put on my coat and allow him to lead the way out of the office.

A chilly breeze blows past me as we walk toward the gallery’s parking lot. The deserted area heightens my senses but I don’t let it bother me. Both Seth and I are armed.

Seth unlocks his car and opens the door to the front passenger seat.

Sliding in, I get comfortable in my seat. Seth climbs in and takes the wheels.

“Which magazine does your friend work for?” Seth asks as we get on the road.

“Kaida is working for Omega Era,” I say excitedly. “Can you believe it?!”

Seth glances at me in surprise. “Wow,” he breathes. “So, Omega Era wants to interview you?”

“Yep! Isn’t that exciting?”

“Definitely,” he says, keeping his gaze on the road ahead. “They’re among the most popular magazines out there. An interview with them will help you with exposure. More and more people will become aware of your art.”

“I can’t wait to tell Dad,” I say as excitement surges through me.

Seth squeezes my hand. “He’ll be so proud of you, darling.”

A grin blossoms on my lips. I’m finally able to do something that’ll make Dad proud of me. If my mom was alive, she’d be so happy too.

The past year gave me the joy and peace I needed to heal from the mental trauma I suffered at the hands of the Black Widow. The terrorist organization has finally been eradicated and all its leaders have been arrested.

Seth, Oliver, and Simon added so much sweetness to my life that I was able to focus on my passion. Their support gave me the courage to pursue my art and make a profession out of it.

A shower of joy and blessing fell on us after the birth of Iris’s baby. Our pack is growing and we can’t wait to welcome more nephews and nieces among us.

I’m startled out of my thoughts as the car comes to a stop. Looking ahead, I see that we’ve already arrived at St. Nikolas’s.

“Could you grab that box from On The Rise?” he says, climbing out of the car.

My gaze falls on a large pastel pink box in the backseat of the car. A chuckle escapes me as I pick it up before sliding out of the car.

“Did you buy these for Iris or Julian?” I ask, walking alongside him.

“They both enjoy sweets,” Seth says, grinning. “The pastries will distract them while we spend time with the baby.”
