Burton Manor rises majestically against the night sky. The sight makes me feel like I’m finally home. My impatience grows as I wait for us to finally reach our cottage.

A heavy silence falls over us as the car finally comes to a stop beside our home. No one speaks a word as we all take a minute to savor this moment.

“That was quite an ending to tonight’s party, huh?” Simon says.

His cheerful comment is met by his brother’s silence.

Without a word, Oliver cuts the engine and climbs out of the car.

I glance back at Simon but he’s already turned his face toward the door and is following Seth out.

My nervousness grows as I follow my mates inside the cottage.

Their obvious anger and disappointment do little to dim the peace and safety stealing through me as I step inside our cozy living room. Our combined scents linger in the air, allowing me to breathe freely.

I’m home, my mind whispers as warmth flares through me.

“Rory,” Seth’s voice is a low growl in my ear.

Before I can turn around to face him, he grabs my hand and pulls me toward him.

A small cry escapes me as my feet stumble and my body falls forward.

Seth’s arms close around me as I tumble into him and fall against his chest in a heap. “I’ve got you, love,” he whispers.

Despite my pounding heart, I feel safe in his embrace. Warmth seeps through the fabric of his shirt, comforting me and arousing me at the same time.

His arms tighten around me in a suffocating hold. “Do you have any idea how worried I was?” he asks in a deep voice, continuing to squeeze me against his chest.

The sheer intensity in his voice makes me tremble.

My mind replays the scene where he killed one of those female guards by simply twisting her neck. Until now, he’s been so sweet and gentle toward me that I forgot who he truly is.

Seth is one of the commanders of the Burton Pack. He led the army that destroyed the Black Widow’s hideout. He may talk about dying for my sake but tonight, he proved he could kill for me too.

“It’s barely been hours since I last saw you but it feels like you’ve been gone a decade,” he says in a grim voice. His shallow breaths warm the side of my neck as he holds me.

Pressed against him, I feel the rapid beats of his heart.

“Say it back,” he says in a rough, commanding voice.

“What?” I whisper, gazing up at him.

His emerald eyes darken. “Did you miss me at all?”

“Of course, I did,” I say. “I don’t know what I would’ve done if you didn’t come for me. Thank you for—”

His lips crash against mine before I can even begin to thank him.

I gasp but his mouth swallows any sound that escapes me as he thrusts his tongue in, devouring me completely. My arms go around his shoulders, hanging onto him as I desperately try to match the ferocity of his kiss.

Seth is relentless. His tongue ravishes my mouth, pouring his raw emotions into the kiss.

My blood simmers in my veins. I finally realize no words can ever come close to describing the utter devastation I felt when I thought I’d never see Seth, Oliver, and Simon again.

My nails dig into his thick, muscular shoulders, drawing a hiss from him.

Seth’s arms suddenly loosen around my waist but next moment, they circle my thighs and before I know it, he’s hauled me up. Without breaking the kiss, he walks toward the staircase that leads to our bedrooms upstairs.
