I can't hold back any longer, and I quickly pull out, releasing my seed on top of her belly, "Fuck."

The edges of my vision are starting to go out, making my heart race in my chest. I quickly move off from on top of her, rising to my feet. I see the confusion and fear on her face when she looks at me. I'm not sure what she's seeing on my face but it's not good. I know that if I don't do something quickly, I'm going to...
"Hannah." I whisper.
She screams my name as my legs give out beneath me and I crumple to the ground. I see her scrambling off the bed just as it all goes black.
Chapter Nine
Hannah
I stare down at Onyx's practically lifeless frame in our bed, feeling so numb. I don't even know what had happened. One minute we were having sex, the next he was on the ground. It terrified me to think that he might die on me. I could see more scales forming on his body, making me think that his other form was trying to take over. I managed to find an older healer who might be able to give me some insights.
"He has been away from the mountain for too long." The healer tells me, his lips pursing, "he is the spirit of the mountain, its protector. He needs to go home."
"But I'm not a dragon." I tell him, “He is my soulmate."
"He needs to be back home or his life will start to fade."
"But what does that mean for me?"
"It means that you need to make a decision." He tells me, tilting his head to the side, "one that I'm not so sure you'll be able to make. If you care about him, you will..."
I know that. I know we need to go to the mountains. I know it's going to be our best bet. I take Onyx's hand in my own, bringing it to my lips.
"I know what I need to do for him." I whisper hoarsely, "I know that we must go... I just hope that I don't lose him in the process. He told me he has a curse."
"It's the curse of a dragon." The healer explains to me, "A dragon is... Very powerful. It's magic is strong. It's not an easy beast to tame."
"What does that mean?"
"Onyx's human form will disappear entirely. He will turn into a dragon. He will have his own personality but his dragon is in charge. The only way to get his human form back is to be mated with another. You are the only one who can do it, Hannah. You are his soulmate, his fated one. Without you, he is nothing."
"But..."
"You are his life. If he cannot be with you, he will fade."
"He is everything to me." I whisper, shaking my head, "I can't let him go. I need him."
"Then, you will need to go back to the mountains."
"Okay."
"Good luck, Hannah."
"Thank you."
When the healer leaves, I'm still holding onto his hand, feeling like my whole world is falling apart.
"Onyx." I whispered, kissing his hand, "Please come back."
His eyes are still closed and he is still breathing but he isn't responding to me.
