Ryan takes me to the bedroom and eases me gently onto my feet. “Think that three percent is still there?” He steps away from me, his jacket swishing as he takes it off and throws it on a chair.

“That’s the part that keeps things interesting.” I grin, and as he begins to unbutton his shirt, I have to tease him. “Getting comfortable?”

Ryan shakes his head, moving toward me. “I’m giving you what you want.”

I bite my lip as he slides the shirt from his arms and tosses it beside his jacket.

My mate’s expression turns to one of concern. “Are you afraid?”

I shake my head then reconsider. “Well, a little, but knowing this seals our forever makes it okay.” I place a hand on his chest over his heart. The beat is steady and strong against my palm, and my own heart flutters with a mix of fear and desire. “What does it say about me that I’m kind of looking forward to your bite?”

Ryan strokes the side of my neck gently with his finger, sending a shive down my spine. “I think it means you trust me when I tell you it’s going to be okay.”

“I do trust you, Ryan.” I never thought I would want more than a life alone, but the reality was that I hadn’t found the man who could change my mind. “Boyfriend—and husband, and mate—Twenty-One… I love you. We are the perfect match.”

Ryan leans in to whisper in my ear, “One hundred percent, Charlie. I love you too.”
