Trax smiled. “Hades didn’t mention you were coming by.”

“He doesn’t know.”

Trax raised his brows and looked over at Rourke.

“He’s about to find out.” Rourke hooked his thumb over his shoulder, gesturing toward the door. “Hades is here.”

“What?” She jumped up from the stool. “He’s here?”

Rourke glanced down at the pictures. “Yeah.”

Her wedding gift was the worst-kept secret in Ghosttown. In order to get exactly what she needed, mainly the photos, Vada had told almost everyone. She trusted the members not to say anything to Hades, but it seemed she was about to expose the surprise herself. If Hades saw the photos, he’d ask questions. Even on her best day, Vada was the worst liar. Hades knew her too well. He’d see through it.

Vada quickly scrambled, placing all the photos back in the box with Regina’s help. She eyed the door, but he hadn’t walked in yet. Shit!

“Prospect!” Kase snapped, pointing to Vada. “Take the back door and put that shit in her car.”

One of the newer prospects, Luke, rushed over and grabbed the box.

“Thanks, Luke.” Vada patted his shoulder.

Prospects had a rough position. They were expected to always be on call, do every task given without question, and take whatever taunting they were dealt. Some members were especially hard on them, the president of Ghosttown being one of them. Though, Hades seemed to go extra hard on Luke. The prospect had always been friendly to her. That may have been the problem. In Hades' eyes, he was perhaps a little too friendly. Vada hadn’t really noticed. Until now.

“You’re welcome.” His voice hitched, and his smile seemed a bit flirty.

“I appreciate it.” Vada flattened her lips, waiting for him to leave. Instead, he just smiled.

“Prospect, don’t make me fucking tell you again. Go,” Kase snarled, sending a harsh glare at the younger guy.

Luke jumped slightly, jerked around, and darted through the room to the back hallway. Vada was only slightly relieved. That solved one potentially disastrous problem. But there was another. She slowly looked up at Grain.

“Remember, Grain. It’s a surprise.”

Grain’s brows knitted. “Yeah, I know.”

Vada nervously chuckled. The last thing she wanted to do was upset or offend Grain. But he had a reputation for his loose lips. “I just mean, we shouldn’t talk about the pictures.”

Grain stilled, cocked his head, and turned in his seat. “I can keep a fucking secret, sweetheart.”

Vada flattened her lips and raised her brows. Can you?

Grain slammed his hand down on the bar and pointed at Vada. “Name one fucking time I didn’t.”

Regina burst out laughing. “Baby, we don’t have enough time to list every time you opened your fucking mouth when ya should’ve kept it closed.”

Grain jerked in his chair. “Name one!”

From across the bar, Ryder cleared his throat and slowly raised his hand. Without saying a word, he pointed to his chest and then to Kase. Vada fought against her smile. There was no denying Grain had exposed a twenty-two-year-old secret.

Grain waved his hand, scoffing. “That doesn’t count.”

“Are you fucking serious, asshole?” Kase shouted.

Grain sighed, looking over at Ryder and Kase seated next to each other. His sudden pause had Vada following Grain’s gaze. Father and son.

“I don’t regret that, and I’m not fucking sorry.”

As you shouldn’t, Grain. But in her case…
